The 20th? Surely tomorrow would make more sense...

Why would it hurt the album performing the single? I don't see the logic of her keep performing lame cover versions. Just do the hit. It is far and away the best thing on the album.

 

 

I just went with the theory more people buy albums the more songs that are promoted on them/more songs people are familiar with. Although i suppose that doesnt count with xmas albums where the majority of songs are covers!

I wonder could Leona make no1? She is pulling ahead a fair bit on iTunes (which is 48hour rolling is it?) And was very close to avicii's sales on weds mids. Lily has fallen so far I don't know if she'll hold it, and Leona was apparently no1 on other download sites? I think it's gonna be close with the 3. Started the week hoping it was Lily but now it'd be nice to see Leona - a surprise to say the least given the last couple of years of her career and a festive hit would be nice before XF destroys all this week's challengers

 

Amazon have reduced Mariah and some other Christmas songs to 19p again - Hopfully Mariah can sneak Top 10 officially on Sunday as she has muti versions charting on iTunes and is Top 5 on Amazon

Itd be a shock most people on here seem to think the low sales and lilys 6k mids lead means she has it but Avicii was 100% compared to 75-78% for Leona & Lily was on 66-69% FOR 2 days. Lily will get a XF boost as always & Leona has 2 hours of Wossy effect this week - still think hey Brother will just nick it. Would like Leona myself or else Lily to have 2 stable week for my own chart geek purposes though!

Looks like after the XF's off no1 him or Avicci could get a week or even a new Beyonce song!

There's no way Leona will make number 1 officially. She was too far behind on Wednesday/Thursday. It's great to see her at the top on iTunes though, and I do think she might overtake Lily and get number 2 based on the big gap between them for the last few days.

I think it will be very close between Lily and Avicii for #1 but I can't see Leona being in contention. I think she will be about 5k behind both Lily and Avicii at #3. It is just about who takes #1 now.

I think Leona has a chance at #1 if X-factor uses a snippet of it or something and then show her album advert & her performance on JR. She just needs to keep pulling away from the others all day today, which looks like it might be happening.

To be fair, in 2010 Teenage Dream was her current single, and she performed Firework. The UK was the first country in the world where the song started being a chart hit, because of how early she performed it.

'Teenage Dream' was out months before that, 'Firework' was performed just a few weeks before its intended release date.
