I've checked Radio 1's schedule for every day between Christmas and New Year's and see no mention of if/when they'll reveal the bestselling singles of 2013.

Anyone who can confirm a day and time for this, please post! My best guess is that it will be on a Sunday during the regular chart show, but a top 150 like last year would be much better!

Is it possible that Radio 1 won't present this at all?

I'd say Sun 29th, as that could correspond with the sales y/e.
Could it be a joint top 40 of the year / new chart, as that has been done before?

It's a shame that radio 1 won't be doing a 'big chart' this new year's day. I was looking forward to having a whole day of listening to the chart show again :( I guess they'll do the top 40 of the year in the last Sunday chart show of the year like they do normally.
That's the best way of doing it though - despite sales being high on that week, there really isn't a lot to shout about...

I'd like to keep the two separate

Same here, but they tend not to do it these days.

To be fair, on the gift card week with all the big hits of the year re-entering, the top 40 and the year-end top 40 become fairly similar. I would've like a whole top 200 though.

Hopefully the dates line up. I'm sure there's years they did it prior to the last week of sales and then the official list changed which is a bit misleading! A nice whole day countdown e.g. the 150 would be cool as a chart fan of course!

Any news on this? Are Big Top 40 doing their one today at least?

Just found out The Ultimate UK Chart are doing it today. Unofficial, but will be very close to the official one.

It says on radio 1's website that Danny Howard is mixing up the biggest selling hits of 2013 whilst Jameela reveals the no.1. Nothing much else on that matter. I would love for the EOY to take priority with a quick rundown of the normal singles chart say in the last 20 minutes.

I wouldn't. I have far more interest in the weekly chart than the year-end chart

www.theultimateukchart.com - it's a weekly old skool-style chart show at the same time as the others, and is essentially a prediction for the following week's chart based on Sunday's sales, but they're doing a year-end chart this week, and it will be based on fairly accurate sales figures as they are always quoting these in their weekly shows.

It say's that Danny Howard is mixing up the big hits of 2013 in 5 minutes, which leads me to believe it's a feature for the 6 o'clock hour where Danny takes the challenge of mixing up as many of 2013's big hits as he can within 5 minutes. Other than that it's a normal Top 40 rundown.

That's what I think anyway, but I'm happy to stand corrected. :)

"Danny Howard mixes up some of 2013's biggest chart hits in five minutes" which suggests they won't be spending much time going over the chart of the year, which is so odd when you consider they spent a whole day doing it last year!

I'll try and record the Ultimate UK Chart show today and upload later for anyone who might be interested in hearing it

I think you read that wrong

Danny Howard mixes up some of 2013's biggest chart hits in five minutes and Jameela counts down to the UK's new Official No 1!

Well I hope it is... obviously if Jameela is counting down, it means the full top 40.

Oh I see :P I think they did a top 150 last year purely because it was the 60th anniversary of the charts.
