Thank god for X Factor then or it would be another week of 40,000 sellers.

That Katy Perry performance was horrific. She never fails to disappoint.

Any reason why this is in the Top100?

I was wondering that myself until I heard it a few days ago on a trailer for Sky Sports....

Really surprised by how low all the weekend X Factor guest performers are at this point. I thought pretty much all of these would be Top 20 or close to it by now, especially One Direction! Anyone know what the viewing figures were over the weekend, were the significantly lower than last year's final?

9.5 million.

Don't forget The Big Reunion Cast 2013 have physicals too, which is out today, also there is the Text Santa TV show on Friday night televised on ITV1, which could take the #2 slot behind Sam B, anyhow its too early to tell, just have to see how Sam B's sales pan out during the week. I don't think Pharrell will manage #2, most likely #3 by the end of the week considering sales are low at the moment.
I can't see The Big Reunion making the top 5.
it was the 2nd poorest rating final ever :o

Although this isn't the final figure, unlike what it's probably being compared to. It'll go up when the final figure's in.

Unless she starts making huge jumps on iTunes, Sam's looking at somewhere between 150-200k surely, judging by how far ahead she is of Pharrell, who must be on for around 50k this week. 200k would be giving her a considerable amount of physical sales in there too. I expected it to do around 350-400k so it's a bit disappointing.

Hopefully I've got it all wrong and she'll pull in amazing physical sales this week.

Sales for singles are low in general, I don't think she'll sell huge amounts.

She is now 63% ahead now, climbed an extra 13% so if she continues it'll look a little more positive.

If Highway To Hell does get into the Official Top 10, I'll be so happy. Their first ever top 10 hit!
Leona's holding on really well! I hope she can remain top 5 come Sunday. :)
Highway To Hell going top 10 would be both a good and a bad thing, good because it's a classic and I can't believe they've never had a top 10 hit, and bad because if it happens then Jason Mraz will overtake their record of most top 75 weeks w/o a top 10 hit :(

she's starting to build up a big lead now.

I would believe Sam Bailey will have stronger physical sales than some previous winners as the age demographic is slightly different in comparison to past winners. I would hate Sam to have the lowest opening sales for an X Factor winner as she was a worthy winner with great talent.

Leona update

Considering sales are so low, that's nowhere near as big a lead as the other winners have managed to get at this time. Like others have said though, I'm sure she'll do well on physical sales. I'm still hopeful for 250k at the very very least, but even that would be extremely disappointing.

I'm not sure the generally low sales for singles would really explain it, because X Factor winners' singles are generally immune to how well or badly the singles market generally is doing. Shayne Ward had the biggest first-week sales for an XF winner ever, even though that came out when the singles market generally was still in the doldrums. Conversely, of course, we saw Little Mix do pretty badly a couple of years ago even when the market was near an all-time high.

(Interestingly, X Factor's ratings are also a pretty bad predictor of how well the winner's single will do, as the Shayne Ward series was one of the lowest-rated of all of them iirc.)

Didn't Shayne Ward get six million votes though compared to Sam Bailey's one?

I don't know about the ratings, but Shayne's series seemed quite big at the time, in terms of media attention, etc. (especially with Chico ). I haven't heard much about this year's.
