I like 'Highway To Hell' but I'm bored of these RATM-lite campaigns. I supported the John Cage and Nirvana ones but CBA with this one. Shame it seems to be doing better than both of those.

All the other campaigns seem to be falling flat. Wasn't really expecting The Retrobot to do much but I thought it'd at LEAST be top 100, but it's currently floundering at #363 :drama:

Ellie Goulding is back up to #4, overtaking Lily Allen. Really surprised how well she's held up, albeit helped by terrible sales.

Under Control finally out the top 10! :cheer: AC/DC probably going to climb faster now they're in the top 10.

I don't think the T10 effect actually applies for campaign songs, as people aren't buying them on merit.

I think it still would a bit, because some people that would support the campaign might not be aware of it yet.

well people could see it there and go oooohh, look at that, forgot that existed, gonna get it whilst its there ;)

I was getting bored of campaign songs but not this time with an expected one horse race.
I'm sure there are people who only buy these campaign songs once they're seen to be doing well though - I presume that's part of the reason why so many more people sign up to these things than actually buy the tracks. So at least there will be some T10 effect, though it may be masked by other things - of course 'Highway' hasn't had its 48 hours yet and unlike a real new release it won't have pre-orders.

I'm hoping that whoever Sam Bailey is, she has more control over her vocals so she can make Skyscraper actually sound good - Demi's vocals have always put me off liking an otherwise good ballad. Still, I do hope next year they pick a better song to whore out.

Surely shaping up to be the DULLEST Christmas chart in years, nothing even remotely interesting happening :/ And No Retrobot in the top 40 I assume

Has it been confirmed that Sam Baileys winners single will be a cover of Skyscraper?

Yes, and in the very unlikely event of Nicholas winning, his song will be 'Superman (It's Not Easy)' by Five For Fighting.

You should look her up. Particularly If I Were A Boy, Power of Love and Enough is Enough. She's the best vocalist to come out of X Factor since Leona in my opinion. Her technique, and the quality, range and power of her chest voice is unbelievable. She is able to hit notes that other singers can only dream of, without even thinking of using a falsetto, she's absolutely brilliant. She will sound amazing on Skyscraper (even if it is a lazy choice by the producers).

Also, I'm totally shocked at how quickly Pharrell has suddenly opened a massive lead after hovering around the same level for the past few days. Has there been any particular promo for the song that I'm not aware of. He's really flying off.

 18. I See Fire - Ed Sheeran

Assuming the ad was shown during XF again - much bigger boost than it got last week! Top 40 re-entry please.

Probably seems bigger as the film was out on Friday.

Skyscraper *.* seriously after The Climb

I want Nicholas to win now.

You used "*.*" incorrectly! (Pretty sure you always do this :()

The best Christmas song of all time update (lots happening to it this week):

015. The Big Reunion Cast 2013 - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday (Radio Edit)

044. Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

077. Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

251. Leona Lewis - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday [Performed on Jonathan Ross last night]

308. The Big Reunion Cast 2013 - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

*.* I wish they all counted towards the original though.

EDIT: Unrelated...

310. Imagine Dragons - Demons

I really hope this gets a big push (PROMO AND EVERYTHING!) now it's a massive top 10 smash in America!

I wouldn't say it was very unlikely! At this stage, the two of them are pretty even (on the basis that neither ever found themselves in the Bottom 2). Nicholas will probably have most of the Scottish vote, which could swing it for him.

I really want Sam to win, but I'm not feeling like it's a foregone conclusion.

I hope she wins as well very talented disaster if Nicholas win another Leon Jackson

Where is Olly's version? :snif:

59p songs in the top 100:

 26 Afrojack feat. Spree Wilson - The Spark

 39 RY X - Berlin

 47 Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You ***

 79 Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday ***

*** Only one version is 59p, not the other ones that are charting

So Highway To Hell should better its previous peak of No.14 in 1992 but that was with a live version. The original made only No.56 in 1979 and re-entered last year and only reached No.40.

I hope she wins as well very talented disaster if Nicholas win another Leon Jackson

Biggest reality TV upset ever if Sam doesn't win!
