Have we ever had a rate of Buzzjack's favourite #41 peaking single? If not, I think we need one!

I remember listening to the chart show the week Daniel Bedingfield had his #41 hit in 2005, they made a huge deal out of it and for the only time I remember started the chart at #41 to highlight it. :

No contest ,

Cher Lloyds- sirens

Cher Lloyd made #41 with Sirens?

Good for her and deserved higher, but that must have been considered a win that it got so high?

Wikipedia says #59 in one place and #41 in another, but OCC confirms it was #41

Yeah it should of been the lead not, I wish

Definitely deserved better was the best song she put out until that point arguably the best she ever released

It was also pushed harder in America the months before think we only got it album release week IIRC

Technically 'Sirens' was the lead here as the UK release of 'I Wish' didn't happen.

It so deserved better, #41 is a real travesty but I think sadly by that point nobody really cared and also she was unlucky to have released it a couple of weeks after streaming was introduced (it was #32 in sales)

Bearing in mind there are very few I know even in recent decades, this could be my top 10:

1 PJ Harvey - Good Fortune (2000)

2 Barrington Levy - Here I Come (1985)

3 Delfonics - Ready Or Not Here I Come (1971)

4 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Breaking The Girl (1992)

5 Lana Del Rey - Love (2017)

6 Lana Del Rey - A&W (2023)

7 Ann Peebles - I Can't Stand The Rain (1974)

8 Primal Scream featuring Denise Johnson - Don't Fight It Feel It (1991)

9 Prince - I Wanna Be Your Lover (1980)

10 Sam Fender - Spit of You (2021)

 Charli having two in such recent times. Hopefully '360' can break the curse!

In all seriousness I shell shocked it managed to escape the #41 and almost to top ten 4 months later, sometimes the GBP shows taste.

Yeah unfortunately the album should of been called Sorry I'm TOO late

Probably didn't help that they focused all the energy on pushing her hard in America so for us it was technically a 3 year wait for new music

Here's my top 10 from that list:

1. Shame - Eurythmics

2. Eve's Volcano - Julian Cope

3. Tempted - Squeeze

4. Powder Blue - Elbow

5. Sparks - Royksopp

6. Love Is All That Matters - Human League

7. Let Me Go - Heaven 17

8. Man On The Corner - Genesis

9. The Boxer - Chemical Brothers

10. Sunshine On Leith - The Proclaimers

This is the top 10 I posted on this thread eight years ago. It's interesting that Tempted is Squeeze's most streamed song, well ahead of their two number 2 hit singles.
