Noooooo. I noticed Fuse ODG down to #17. :( Oh well. At least another top 40 hit for him, but it's really an amazing song imo.

^^Thought it'd be like that not sure Kylie would do well on air she would be top 20 for one week the drop without rasio1/capital airplay!

Exactly! That's why for some artists the method just doesn't work. :P

She's sort of in the same boat as acts like Britney, Madonna etc who will always have their fanbase and be successful (well with tours and stuff), but I think they're sort of considered last generation's popstars now, as much as it saddens me to admit that.

Ya i have to agree and it saddens me in some ways but once Kylie keeps releasing new material i will be happy. Im not sure what release strategy would work best for Kylie seeing she will most likely get minimal airplay, she must release physical formats as she always sell well with them and enough to make her singles chart outside the lead single. Hopefully she can do a lot of promo and get the single top 10 which i think she can do. If the new album went platinum id be happy too.

2014 is looking good for me music wise as at the worst i should be adding a new Take That and Kylie album to my collection.

Yea I suppose they are unless they come back and extend their singles chart career with a cracking come back a la CGYOOMH or Hung Up. Rihanna, Lady Gaga & Taylor Swift are the new kids in town now.

Yea I admit on air isn't right for some artists but if it was done properly and radio/record companies realised its here for good the artists would learn and it wouldn't be as bad!

A cracker of a single could still do well if it can appeal to the younger generations. All the lovers definitely appealed outside Kylies fanbase so she needs that to happen again. Madonnas singles of the last album were extremely poor in my opinion and i feel thats why they bombed, Madonna no more than Kylie have the ability to bounce back and show people what they are made, but their peak is over and you know what with the careers they had and many others with them they did very well having a 20 year plus successful career.

The Rihannas, Lady Gaga etc will one day too become old generations, its the nature of the industry.

"Ho Hey" will never die. I hope it can reach the million mark some time this decade!

Surprised how quickly Pharrel overtook Ke$ha/Pitbull. I like "Happy" a lot though, so not complaining. :)

Will Timber and Hey Brother be combined for the official chart?

169. Miley Cyrus - Adore You

It will be interesting to see if Capital or Radio1 playlist this! I can't see it bothering to make the top 20!

Radio 1 need to get it together. There is no way Pharrell is technically more relevant than Kylie, Robbie, or Madonna are.

He did kind of disappear for a few years, but I think he's very relevent currently.

However, I think Kylie, Robbie and Madonna are relevent too. They've all had big enough careers that at this point they can never really become irrelevent. But Radio 1 are probably scared to play them since they're under pressure to get their audience age down (even if it means losing listeners).

So they're going to offer a diet of Teletubbies, Postman Pat, Mr Blobby, etc?

169. Miley Cyrus - Adore You

I think at this moment in time Radio 1 would playlist anything with her name on it, but I agree I can see this not making the top 20 ala 'Unconditionally. It's total boredom.

Radio 1 need to get it together. There is no way Pharrell is technically more relevant than Kylie, Robbie, or Madonna are.

I could maybe see an argument for Robbie what with his top 5 year end position with his last album but I'd like to see any justification for Pharrell not being more relevant than Kylie or ESPECIALLY Madonna (whose last album had no hit singles and clearly did not appeal to anyone outside her fanbase). I mean, come on, he was #1 on sales of more than 100k just last week, not even mentioning 'Blurred Lines' and 'Get Lucky'

~

'Adore You' making it as high as #61 on cherrypicks makes me think it'll be another relatively big hit for her (although saying that 'Unconditionally' did get to #60 in its first week, but then that was a confirmed single at that point whereas 'Adore You' IIRC wasn't). Hopefully she'll be back near the top of the chart with 'Feelin' Myself' if not with that anyway.

Matrix & Futurebound up to #13 :o

 10. Matrix & Futurebound - Control (feat. Max Marshall) :o

 11. Sam Bailey - Skyscraper
