Well that's rubbish. I was going to watch it on demand tomorrow with no spoilers, but since I've already seen Twitter and I know this; I'm not watching it.

Nah that's well dodgy, they were legit #1 as they closed voting... It pisses me off that they can't go ONE year without a 1D circle jerk in some form, nothing against Harry Styles but 1D has won it EVERY year and now Harry has to despite not even topping the vote... Idk what happened, if they only counted UK votes then surely on the actual website where you could see the rankings, it wouldn't have had LM at the top? It perhaps could have been that the last little rush made that counter mess up a tad, but the hashtag for the girls was of course trending too suggesting they were highest. But then it was an x number (one per day per user i think?) And retweets didn't count so I don't think you can use trending to measure that accurately.

 

Either way I think the video one shouldn't be public voted, it becomes about fanbase rather than video. Judging by the actual video if should have been New Rules or Symphony, but ofc I was more than happy for the girls to get it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head brilliantly. Out of the remaining five videos I think they had the best (even if they shouldn't have been in that far, possibly) with the real winner being someone like Dua or Zara whose video is undeniably better - choreo, filming, production, plot, etc. I do hope that the voting issues this year show the BRITS that the fan voting doesn't work because it's clearly not the best way to 1) ensure a worthy winner, 2) allocate the award when there is a problem with the system and c) because it always goes against the premise of the category. How can a man flying in the air above a field be the winning video, I mean seriously? :lol: if Touch deserved any award it would have been single imo.

Oh and on another note, 'How Ya Doin' got chosen by Chris Stark for the 'bangers' segment on R1. It didn't get picked by the listener (ofc) but it was nice to see at least someone outside of here remembering it exists. :lol: Truly their most underrated single, it still seriously bops!
