Can people on Popjustice stop with the ridiculous claims that the girls were ‘fizzling out’ towards the end of their run?   They literally had a huge number 1 single and three other Platinum top ten

  • Why is this making me so emotional omg.

Based on the solo stuff I'm definitely in the camp for just wanting little mix getting back together, unless something surprising happens and some decent solo stuff comes I'd like 2024 to have solo work out of their system and back to their main job in 2025.

Didn’t know where to post this, but there is one Tik Toker who did a “Top 3 Songs That Should’ve Been Singles” series and did a LM version.

Jade commented on some with some interesting info.

- Jade agrees with the Tik Toker (AND ME FYI!!!) that ‘Madhouse’ should have been a single from debut.

- They really tried to get ‘Nothing Feels Like You’ as the Sport Relief single, but were told it had to be a cover! Ugh.

- ‘Weird People’ had a video treatment and was originally lined up to be single 2! As much as I like this song I’m so glad they went for LMLY over it! It would have been fine as a “4th and final single” kinda release but the song to launch the album on the back off? I’m not sure!

Will try and locate her comments across the other albums when I get time but he broke this down in this video here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGest7Yea/

Rewatching some of their tour videos and ugh, Perrie sounds so awful singing 'Wasabi'.

She sounds so nasally and I've no idea why shestringsouteveryworddddddd without any breaths.

I think it's one of their few songs that actually doesn't translate very well live. None of them sound that good on it.

They literally had a huge number 1 single and three other Platinum top ten singles in the months prior to their hiatus announcement. The way fans are rewriting history to imply the girls were flopping is so bizarre. They were still one of, if not THE most successful female British act in 2021!

Speaking of Popjustice have all their album threads (besides Get Weird) been deleted?

Sadly, they all got removed for legal reasons I'm sure.

Legal reasons? o

That really sucks. Some of them were so interesting to read. Especially the reactions to the Nicki/Cardi drama in the LM5 thread and then the reactions to Sweet Melody/Jesy leaving etc in Confetti.

Thanks for answering.

This part really interested me!

One positive to come from Nelson’s departure was the remaining members’ determination to resolve any lingering conflicts. The band had been in group therapy at the start of their career, and re-entered as a trio. “We’d seen what happened when we didn’t air things out and so there were apologies between the three of us. We all knew that we really wanted to end things on a high, still adoring each other, so we’d do whatever we had to do to achieve that.”

Thirlwall says that the group’s final – for now – tour was the most fun she’d ever had. “Anything we’d wanted to say had been said by that point and we loved each other more for it, and had more of an understanding of each other.

This is insane. If I had to guess which track it was if it was an existing one, I'd actually say it was 'Secret Love Song' (feat. Jason Derulo).

I assume their parts got cut in favour of Jason's verse/ad-libbing. The structure of that version of SLS always seemed a bit "odd" to me for some reason and I couldn't quite work out why, but this would make perfect sense.

I mean, Jade is tacked on to the end of Jesy's intro and starts the first verse (why didn't Jesy just have the full intro before going into Jade's part of the verse), Perrie has two choruses & Leigh-Anne has a back & forth on the bridge with Jason, before having the first half of the final chorus - which then shifts to Perrie's big finale with Jason warbling all over it before Jade finishes it off with her ending. That's not even mentioning that it doesn't have BG vocals or ad-libs from any of the girls through the song.

I adore the song, but Jade and Leigh do seem a bit "forgotten" in that part of the song...

I'm guessing "Part 2" with "Part 1" production was set to be the original release before Jason's team got wind of their 'Want To Want Me' Live Lounge cover earlier that Summer and got in touch to duet with Jason, so they ended up deciding to originally cut (seemingly all of) Jade and Leigh's parts. Really glad to see Perrie and Jesy said they wouldn't do it if Jade and Leigh weren't involved.

(Does anyone else see this? Maybe I'm just being a bit *too* delusional with this, but this does make sense to me if it was the case! - Another strike as to why Part 2 >>....)

Cutting out two of the members in a song (no matter what song it is) is bad enough but the two women of colour at the same time? INSANE! SyCo can go to hell tbh.

Is this the same interview where Jade opened up about her weight again and how she fought with herself over taking Ozempic due to the comments etc..? I really need to read the full interview because it sounds interesting AF.

They MUST tour those locations when they reunite. They HAVE to. They're always so loyal to them!
