NO SPOILERS PLEASE (ALTHOUGH NO 1 IS NO SHOCK OBVS)

Kicking off the top 100 with four fallers and a “new entry” but then how new can a 22 year old album be? Yes Abba are back in the decade’s biggest sellers on sheer determination and constant sales of “Gold” which has now racked up a 1000 weeks on the album charts and debuts at No 98 here. 8 albums tumble on this survey by at least 20 places but none further than Boyzone’s “Brother” which hurtles 25 places over the course of the year whilst Andre Rieu is the first of 22 acts to have at least 2 albums present.

The second of our 17 new entries rock up at No 91 to become Eminem’s first of two appearances taking just 8 weeks to sell over 400k. We also have our first climber in Neil Diamond who moves up 7 places on his 2012 position, the others are all fallers, however Beyonce will appear once more!

I had no idea Snow Patrol's GHs had sold nearly 1m :o

I'd forgotten that 'Velociraptor!' had sold so much, well over half of its predecessor despite little single success.

I'm guessing 'The Suburbs' has fallen out, unfortunately. Still my favourite of the decade, don't know what my favourite will be of the top 100 now.

I had no idea Snow Patrol's GHs had sold nearly 1m :o

I used to have no idea that it was a greatest hits! :P Should pass 1m some point this year!

Nice to see ABBA entering, I reckon they'll be Top 100 in this list in 2019.

A bit surprised that ABBA took until this year to be in the top 100 of the decade, I expect they'll continue to work their way upwards over the years as their sales remain very consistent.

'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' not far off overtaking the total sales of 'Relapse' after just 8 weeks! (That had sales of 513k as of the week MMLP2 entered the chart). Probably won't ever overtake 'Recovery' though.

I was surprised to see Velociraptor! in the list. Didn't realise it had done that well. Happy to see Snow Patrol have sold so well.

I know it has already sold bucket loads but I would have expected ABBA to actually be a bit higher.

I think ADELE's 21 could be the No.1 album of the decade.

Fun. just missed out on the top 100 at the end of 2012 but further sales this year help it slip into our chart though its position looks precarious. A slight fall for Caro Emerald (probably thanks to a new album and critical acclaim) is compensated by hefty falls for Foo Fighters and Eliza Doolittle along with ex-boyband JLS who are still one of five acts with a trio of albums to come.

Oh here’s JLS again, this time with an album from the last decade (there are 23 albums on this list which predate 2010) which is still far and away their biggest seller ever. A brace of new entries in this section however The Script who much like Fun. Missed out on a place last year but perhaps Danny O’Donoghue’s “Voice” exposure helped here? It enters the 100 along with a 2008 GH set from the Stereophonics who got a surge in popularity this year with their new album, and the soundtrack to “Les Miserables” which in chart soundtrack terms was the movie of the year.

Wonder how many of this outer 20 will make it til the end of the decade, or even next year. Not many I'd guess. Stereophonics GH is a genuine surprise and I'd forgotten JLS sold quite so much - probably more than the sales of all their other albums combined! 1D have obv been much more consistent impressively but have yet to come close to JLS total with any of their albums. Time will tell...

I own 3 albums so far, not that representative

Proving that country can shift albums Taylor Swift finally arrived in the UK with “Red” which debuts just below the indie darlings of the year Bastille who had the 7th biggest album of 2013 (in terms of albums released last year). Winehouse and Oasis take definite falls as memories fade but memories of Barlow’s poor solo chart career are vanguished with “Since I Saw You Last” which marks its entry to the top 100 on just 5 weeks of sales.

Former indie darlings Artic Monkeys are the only new entry here who have a return to commercial form with “AM” just below former Mercury Music prize winners The XX who aren’t doing badly in a consistent fashion. The appeal of Andre Rieu still escapes me but he’s in there with his second and final album on this chart and, oh yeah yesterday's boyband drop to No 75. Meanwhile the only act with 4 albums here is Rihanna, but “Rated R” suffers a big tumble.

Which was led by 3 singles which were not even by the vaguest definition 'country'...
