Ohmygoodness, didn't she cover for Kelly Rowland and her ENTIRE category were in the bottom?

Alex didn't mentor them. She stood in for Kelly in terms of the judging role only.

I'm kind of stunned by the rumours of Cheryl coming back to the X Factor. I have always thought she would never come back to the show. Not only because of the US debacle, but as well because of the way she was treated in the UK during her last season there. The whole Gamu thing was disgusting and it all went downhill, the hatred was kind of scary. I know what's the UK public is like though, they love to hate what they previously loved, and vice versa. So I'm sure she would be nicely welcome for a 4th season.

On a very selfish point of view, I have to admitt I'd love to see her back, if only to watch her every week-end and get that big iconic performance on the show. Screw the critics.

Then again, I won't believe the rumours until it gets firmly confirmed. I had the same excitement for her rumoured US X Factor comeback until it turned out to be completely made up. Then again her recent instagram publication would indicate she's coming back, but she could as well just play with the rumours, teasing the press.

If she does it, I want Dannii back on the show with her though. No Nicole, no Rita. And please god NO OLLY. I just don't like him so I'm being selfish. :kink:

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm pleased to announce Cheryl is officially back on the X Factor UK.

It's gonna be a rollercoaster for her since the public is gonna be pretty harsh on her, but YAY for weekly Cheryl on TV and that big promo slot. :kink:

I absolutely hated her so much originally, but I am pretty fond of her now. And if we get another song as good as Call My Name I will be MADE UP PET.
FABULOUS news. The X Factor was at its best in its Simon-Cheryl-Louis-Dannii days. We are about 3/4 of the way there folks (Dannii has already confirmed she's not interested in returning but 3/4 is pretty good considering.)
I think Alesha Dixon will end up as the fourth panel member. I can just see it!

Dannii or nothing.

I'm sure the word authentic will be used a ridiculous amount.

Erugh, can't say I am pleased, nor am I that annoyed. I never saw what the big deal with Cheryl was, she never really said anything constructive, although she did have a nack for knowing when someone looked like a popstar. She never seemed able to make a decision, unless it was to send home someone she had something massively against, be it for looking better in a dress than her, or looking like Sophie Amogbokpa. Cheryl was always just kinda a bum on a seat.
Also while I remember, Kazeem of Rough Copy (the convicted criminal one who wasn't permitted to travel to America two years in a row) has been kicked off The X Factor Tour after a row or something backstage, does anyone know to let us know what actually happened, must be serious.

I think the reason people wanted to tear her down back then is because of all the insane hype that was surrounding her. British people like to bring someone down if they're being hyped up as the best thing since sliced bread, especially when as in Cheryl's case the hype really isn't justified (I like her but let's be honest with ourselves). Now that the media circus surrounding her has simmered down, people probably won't be so "out to get her".

It's definitely the best move from the X Factor producers' perspective, but I'm not convinced this on its own will be enough to turn around ratings.

First interview together:

They showed a slightly longer version on Lorraine, and Cheryl said she didn't want to be the only woman on the panel. So I guess it's gonna be either Louis or Oly, along with an other woman.

Im glad Cheryls back. Not so sure about Simon. I liked Gary Barlow :(

Kelly Rowland? I think she'd work well with the new panel. She worked well with Simon on the US version, I'm sure her and Cheryl would be fine, and she gets on with Louis. Plus, she'd very much balance out Cheryl in having one very technical judge regarding the vocals, and one who's there for the chemistry and ratings. I don't think Kelly was given a fair chance in series 8, so I'd be nice to see her have a second chance.
