January 26, 201412 yr Never really understood the appeal for 'Monster' tbh. Was hoping Sophie Ellis-Bextor would have scraped the top 40 :(

Etc! Remix) Biography Sub Focus is an alias of Nick Douwma, a fast-rising drum'n'bass producer/DJ affiliated with the Ram Records collective who became one of the style's leading practitioners within only two years of his recording debut. Originally from London, England, Douwma is a self-taught producer who began producing music on his PC at age 13 and attained his know-how from software manuals. One of his demos eventually made its way into the hands of Andy C., the co-founder of Ram Records, one of the U.K.'s premier drum'n'bass labels. Signed initially to the Ram Records offshoot label Frequency, Douwma made his recording debut as Sub Focus in 2003 with the 12" release Down the Drain/Hot Line. A couple more 12" releases on Frequency followed in 2004, along with one on J Majik's Infrared label. Douwma's breakout year came in 2005, however, when he made his Ram Records debut, releasing X-Ray/Scarecrow and, later in the year, Frozen Solid/Juno; these 12" releases were also compiled on the Frozen Solid/X-Ray maxi-single in response to their widespread demand, as "X-Ray" was awarded Single of the Week on tastemaker Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. Also in 2005, Douwma was chosen to remix the Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" in promotion of the group's 15-year anniversary collection, Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005. In subsequent years, Douwma continued his affiliation with Ram Records, releasing a 12" more or less annually (i.e., Airplane/Flamenco, 2006; Special Place/Druggy, 2007; Time Warp/Join the Dots, 2008; et al.) and performing as an affiliate DJ at clubs such as Fabric and festivals such as Glastonbury. In 2009 Douwma issued his full-length debut, Sub Focus, which incorporated an eclectic fusion of futuristic house, dubstep, and electro-rock. The following year he produced the track "Kickstarts" for British singer/rapper Example, which peaked at number three on the U.K. singles chart, and in 2011 he inked a deal with Mercury, with plans to release his second album under the Sub Focus moniker in late 2012. The album sessions went on longer than expected and spawned five singles which gained Douwma increasing recognition and success with each release, culminating in the euphoric UK no. 10 hit "Endorphins" featuring vocalist Alex Clare. The success of the single was no doubt powered at least in part by its brilliant music video, which sees brutal riot police cracking down on dissidents in a dystopian future where music has been banned. A number of other high-profile vocalists, including Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, appeared on the eventual album, which was titled Torus and scheduled for release in September 2013. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2005 60 X Ray / Scarecrow 2009 38 Rock It / Follow The Light -1- 2010 41 Could This Be Real -2- 2010 41 Splash (Sub Focus Feat. January 26, 201412 yr It's time for the Sub!! :w00t: :cheer: I will have to get my hands on Torus at some point!
January 26, 201412 yr Because PETA demonstrates its "humane" treatment of animals by killing (euthanizing) millions of dogs every year. Plus their understanding of science is on the same level as James Dellingpole. But the chart show thread isn't the best place to go into more detail about this. Have you ever visited the "Perspectives" forum? I haven't visited perspective forum because english is not my first language and it will be diffcult to express my opinions..But i will give it a try. "Turn Back Time" was a nice surprise last week.
January 26, 201412 yr Turn Back Time  What a tune, I'm really loving Sub Focus this era - this and Endorphins in particular are bangers!

Got You All in Check." Born in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, in 1972 of Jamaican heritage (a definite influence on his rapping style), Busta moved to Long Island in 1983 and, at Uniondale High School, met up with MCs Charlie Brown, Dinco D., and Cut Monitor Milo. Inspired by fellow Long Islanders Public Enemy and Eric B. & Rakim, the foursome united as Leaders of the New School and signed a deal with Elektra Records right out of the gate, when Busta was only 17 years old. Much respected in the hip-hop underground for their Afrocentric philosophy and tough rapping styles, Leaders of the New School debuted in 1991 with Future Without a Past... but released only one more album, 1993's T.I.M.E., before breaking up the following year. Out on his own for the first time, Busta called on some friends, appearing on A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario," the incredible remix of Craig Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear" (also featuring Notorious B.I.G. and LL Cool J), as well as other projects with Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, and TLC. He also appeared in the 1995 John Singleton film Higher Learning and earned a solo contract with Elektra. Busta's first album, The Coming, proved a huge hit; the single "Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check" hit the Top Ten and pushed the album into gold-record territory. His second album, When Disaster Strikes, debuted at number three in September 1997. Extinction Level Event followed a year later, and in mid-2000, Busta released Anarchy while appearing on the silver screen in a remake of the blaxploitation classic Shaft. 2002's It Ain't Safe No More and 2006's Aftermath-released The Big Bang followed. While shooting a video for a remix of the latter album's "Touch It," Busta's bodyguard was shot to death. Creative differences with Interscope kept his career on hold until 2009 when Back on My B.S. became his first album for Universal/Motown. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Busta Rhymes 1996 08 Woo-hah!!
