Posted February 2, 201411 yr Hi everyone, FYI There is a worldwide campaign to get Angels To No1 for Robbie Williams 40th birthday. :birthday: Have you heard about it? Do you think it has chances to be successful given the 6 digit sales this month...? Anyway please everyone share! I think it's a good idea (I'm not the creator of this campaign) and I'd be happy if it worked! Angels For No1 Facebook page Angels For No1 UK Facebook Event Angels For No1 Twitter page
February 2, 201411 yr No way in a million years would this ever work, but it'd be great if it could!
February 2, 201411 yr Surely "Angels" has sold enough already (plus been on a huge selling album or two) to make this very, very unlikely
February 2, 201411 yr Well there's quite alot of work to be done as it's not currently in the Top 1500 on itunes. :P  It would be nice to see it at #1 though! :D
February 2, 201411 yr if you're gonna pick a campaign for a Robbie song, why not pick one of his more less-obvious, underrated singles? PgW5EQZSr84 *.*
February 2, 201411 yr if you're gonna pick a campaign for a Robbie song, why not pick one of his more less-obvious, underrated singles? PgW5EQZSr84 *.* Whilst I love Radio, I don't think anyone would choose it for a campaign to get to number 1, since it's already been there! Angels has sold loads but never made it, so it more of an obvious choice I think! :P
February 2, 201411 yr One word (if it does) HYPE. Shouldn't be allowed even to enter the charts. It's false pretences. Only one reason for something to re-enter the charts & that is a death. Even then I'm not keen on that sort of thing, as it becomes kind of a fan thing aka Jackson, Lennon, Presley, Winehouse. Only one person's death has had an effect on me, to re-buy something & that was the untimely death of Malcolm Roberts some years back. Though neither did I want it back in the charts.
February 2, 201411 yr I think Radio is one of his worst single. Unless used well on XF or BGT, I can't see Angels getting back into the charts until Robbie's passing. Sad to say it, but true. I doubt it would be for many, many years yet though!
February 2, 201411 yr Radio is one of his best. It's just not like everything else he's done. Nicely Bowie-esque (or possibly Newman or someone else who liked to rip of David Bowie) in places. Edited February 2, 201411 yr by AnthonyT
February 2, 201411 yr Author I also like Radio but it has already been number one, and Angels has been chosen precisely because it is his signature song and his biggest-selling song here. Most of the sales were physical singles at the time so many people can still download a version from iTunes, including the acoustic version they might not have or some live. IMO Feel would have been another good option. I hardly expect it to enter the top 10 though but I like the fans idea. I'm trying to do the same in my country (Switzerland), we'll see where it lands. February 2, 201411 yr Never understood the appeal for 'Angels', the fact someone always seems to want to sing it at karaoke nights doesn't help either. -_- Dreadful song imo.
February 2, 201411 yr Radio is one of his best. It's just not like everything else he's done. Nicely Bowie-esque (or possibly Newman or someone else who liked to rip of David Bowie) in places. Stephen Duffy is surely the Bowie fan to blame for the track. I did actually listen to 'Radio' last year for the first time in, well, about nine years actually. It's not that bad a song but Robbie himself is even more annoying than usual on it, deliberately singing out of tune. 'Angels' on the other hand is hardly a song that needs more exposure or publicity so I'm hoping this campaign falls flat on its backside.
February 2, 201411 yr 541. Robbie Williams - Angels 1162. Robbie Williams - Angels ;) I feel this'll be a long shot, but good luck nevertheless as I do love the song! Edited February 2, 201411 yr by Jade
February 2, 201411 yr Ever since my Uncle decided he wanted this played at my nana's funeral, I cannot listen to this song.
