I love Recover, but I don't know why they're even bothering re-releasing another track when it did nothing for Lies.

"Lies" was never commercially released in the first place (before December), however "The Mother We Share" was and that worked out ok. That said, I agree that re-releasing "Recover" is very 5.15pm on BBC1.

Well Drunk In Love isn't the single so no, they shouldn't have b-listed it.

Well, it hasn't stopped it from being playlisted on capital and A-listed on Radio 1 Xtra...

Why drop will.i.am now? It's still in the UK T5.

Great to see "F For You" getting a second push, though a #20 peak already is pretty decent compared to "Help Me Lose My Mind" and "Voices".

Capital plays the hits, regardless of whether they're released as singles or not. Radio 1xtra playlists many album tracks (e.g. Jessie J - Excuse My Rude was playlisted last year). Radio 1 will play the official singles - Drunk In Love wasn't one of them, it was XO that was the first single.

1 Xtra tend to playlist album tracks sometimes, and because this one is doing so well it's made the A-list; Capital just playlist anything that makes the top 10! Drunk In Love hasn't officially been sent to radio by her label (that's XO) so the airplay it's currently receiving is actually unsolicited.

If they were gonna pointlessly replaylist a song, it should have been Paramore's 'Ain't It Fun'; not 'Recover'. :(

Where did Recovery get to the last time it was playlisted? Aint it Fun i think got to the alist and still gets plays today!

Good for Disclosure and Arctic Monkeys getting added! Route 94 moving up. :yahoo:

Gutted to see Vance Joy removed though. I hope it doesn't slip down the chart as a result.

Riptide probably will slowly fall now - its radio airplay chart was only being helped by radio 1 plays, most indie songs rely on this station to help them get popular mainstream support because commercial radio doesnt seem to support indie/rock music!

'Recover' was B-listed this time last year.

I'm hoping it can be one of them songs that sticks around for ages without getting lots of support (i.e Ho Hey). I'd imagine Radio 1 will probably still play it frequently as a recurrent ex playlist track though. Heart will probably start playing it in April.

Surely now that Dark Horse reached the Itunes top 10, surely they can't wait much longer?

'Ain't It Fun' was only ever B-Listed. It got there on 14/08/13 and was removed on 28/08/14.

Yeah it possible, would love to see songs like this get a wee tv performance to see their upturn!

O was it, think im getting mixed up with the 2nd & 3rd singles!

Again, it depends on when its impact date is.

I do think it shows a lack of flexibility not to move away from impact dates and the like especially in this digital era!

Well if impact dates didn't exist, things would be all over the place, see Do What U Want as an example. Still no video, unlikely we'll get one now. The impact date allows a label to get promotion, the video, radio plays, etc. peaking around a certain time.

I know and I'm not denying that but as I said flexibility should be shown too to find the right balance in certain cases. Did Gotye for instance have an official impact date in jan 2011!? I'm not sure it did but it's rise was inevitable!

A good example of the wrong way to do thing is DWYW like you said but also Shakiras new song released immediately without a video & radio initially playing it on day one due to the artists involved but then putting it at the bottom of their playlist for a month, these things need coordination if they want to let the songs fulfill their potential - Shakira would be top 10 now if the single was released at the same time as the video premiere!

All depends on the official impact date though, they very rarely add songs much earlier than about a month before the impact date. It was the same with 'Unconditionally' - it was crying out to be added but they waited until a month before impact date so I guess they'll do the same with 'Dark Horse'.
