February 11, 201412 yr A Katy B - London Grammar - Ellie Goulding top 3 would be pretty sweet. Hope Ellie holds off Avicii. Disappointing start for Katy - hope she has promotion lined up over the next few days.
February 11, 201412 yr Pretty low sales for Katy B, at least she should have her #1 album though! I was so OVER that Zedd song after a couple of days of listening
February 11, 201412 yr Yeah, saw that but I think that might be a slightly inflated figure. I'd say it's actually more around the 200k mark but I may be underestimating trickle sales / impact of Mercury nomination etc. 208,000 as of last week!
February 11, 201412 yr Going to be low sales for album No.1 then. But a Number One is still something to celebrate for Katy!
February 11, 201412 yr 8.8k shouldn't translate into that low of a figure. 25-30k? That's about what I expected to be honest. Any lower than that will be kinda poor but at the same time imagine what she'd be selling if it weren't for 'Crying For No Reason' right now.

The last couple of weeks, the #1 barely doubled its Tuesday sales.
February 11, 201412 yr OK that's somewhat poor. I wouldn't expect Katy to be quite as frontloaded as the most recent ones though? Hopefully she'll push on for a tad over 20k.
February 11, 201412 yr Yeah I would expect Katy B's sales to hold up better over the week than Bruce Springsteen, You Me At Six and Bombay Bicycle Club :P Probably only about 25k max though. She's doing well IMO, it won't be too far off the opening sales of 'On A Mission' and that was released off the back of 3 top 10 hits whereas this album only has the one. I never expected 'Little Red' to even contend for #1 until a couple of weeks ago when it became clear 'Crying For No Reason' was going to do a lot better than '5 AM'.
February 11, 201412 yr I think Katy should manage to just scrape over 20k this week and although that may not be great, it could have been a hell of a lot worse. With how the era was going up until CFNR, a #1 album would have been a massive shock.
February 11, 201412 yr Could have called Katy B having a number one album, I couldn't have called Lisa Stansfield and Neil Finn being top ten in the early mids, Lisa may have been helped by being radio 2's album of the week last week
February 11, 201412 yr I'm actually wondering if it's possible that Katy B might be knocked off #1 by a late surge for an album bought as a Valentine's Day present. I can't really see anything in the top 10 which would be likely to benefit from such an effect though, Ellie Goulding is maybe a slight possibility (on the basis of 'How Long Will I Love You').
February 11, 201412 yr Imagine a week without a big album release in the coming weeks after the Brits effect ends - the no1 will be down to 10k :(
February 11, 201412 yr Imagine a week without a big album release in the coming weeks after the Brits effect ends - the no1 will be down to 10k :( MKS should really get their act together to take advantage of such a climate :D. Although they'd probably still debut at around #18... Edited February 11, 201412 yr by noahspike
