I was just thinking that, looking at my past entries list, it isn't flawless, and there's some songs that I kinda regret sending into the contest. For example this one that I sent as recently as October last year:

Arty's got much better tunes in his collection.

I'm also not a big fan of this one that I sent in late 2012:

So are there any duds in your collection?

tiger love 'summer rain' - it was a bit of a panic move and i really don't like to sit on potentials for ages, especially when i was gonna send shlohmo's 'bo peep' instead which did much better. i also half regret telephoned 'one thing' - it was a bit of a forgettable dud in the scheme of my entries. REALLY wish i'd gone with 'tidal wave' instead of 'got me wrong' for alpines as well but i'm still happy with that. the rest i love! 'paradise circus' should have done better you monsters.
None, I send my entries cause I love them and I still listen to all of mine frequently now. I wouldn't send my first two entries now (Greyson Chance - Running Away and Laura Jansen - Wicked World) but I didn't have quite as much knowledge of how BJSC worked back then  Still love the songs though and it's more about sending a song you love than getting success for me.

My main regret is 'Close Your Eyes' by The Bullitts/Jay Electronica/Lucy Liu, aside from the fact it was an obvious flop I had already got bored of the song before the contest even ended (this was the only contest where I received a deduction, I had failed to vote in the final a couple of times before/after but only after DNQing in the semis whereas 'Close Your Eyes' was in a One Big Final contest).

More recently I regret sending Machines Don't Care/Meleka 'Beat Dun Drop' as, although I do LIKE it, it was kind of a desperate attempt to appeal to pop voters a bit more to try and get a hit which is something I try to avoid doing now. Also mildly regret sending MAASAI 'Memories' last year as I didn't really love it at the time as much as I usually do with my entries, but to be fair I don't think I had anything that I *did* love that much that month.

No regrets about sending Kadie Elder 'Simple Guy' the month before MAASAI despite it being my biggest flop since 'Bear Hug', I just listened to it again the other day and it's still a fantastic song, still clueless as to how it came second last in its semi.

My biggest regret is 'Never Take That Away' by Jamie McDell. On another level, I don't know if Aleesia or Jetta were the best choices I could have made but I don't majorly regret sending them.

DIVE IN. Although it's still one of the best poppy poppy songs of last year. And I would've regretted it more had it not come top 10!

5. Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses

4. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home

3. Tommy Sparks - She’s Got Me Dancing

2. Electrik Red - So Good

1. I Am Noxious – I Gotta Feeling/Meet Me Halfway

My five other forgettable entries. I think. Fortunately they're all from 4+ years ago.

Only really GoGo bu Kura. Sent it because I was pissed at being vetoed, which is always a great way to go.

Echosmith. Just, Echosmith. Disappointingly weak looking back, especially since it was one of the more anonymous songs in its contest.

The Wrecking Queens too to an extent, but I was young and naive so I'll forgive myself for sending that. Actually, maybe Emmon and Alyssa Reid too, they're definitely not among my best and they sound real weak these days.

Rochelle Jordan and Basheba - I still like the songs but unlike my other DNQs, I understand why they failed, and probably should have realised that before sending them.

The Federal Republic does not claim BJSC X or XXIII.

For X the wrong video was included in the confirmation and was amended too late to salvage the contest leading to our first DNQ. The glorious Headhunted also DNQ'd and the contest was won by something terminally dull that is still one of the worst ever winners, despite the indie invasion. So yeah, Ashton prefers not to think about BJSCX.

XXIII was a protest (I genuinely didn't know it was in the chart when I confirmed it, but I knew it was huge and was released around the contest date so it wasn't a surprise). It was pre-veto and I was deeply pissed off at people sending cheap shite that was just about to explode and not being able to anything about it. Outrage ensued and then the Ban discussion arose. This lead to the ill-fated and really crap ban list as a compromise measure that I was so please to throw out for the reboot. So while I don't really like to claim it as an entry, I did succeed with my aim and in BJSC XXVIII the Veto was born!

I Am a Camera - Factory Boys - Desperate attempt to get a hit which I didn't even like that much that deservedly failed (my other potential was Dirty Paws by Of Monsters & Men WHY :()

Forss - In Paradisum - I don't know what I was expecting sending this either, I like it in a way, but definitely completely inappropriate for BJSC.

The Bullitts - World Inside Your Rainbow - I was beaten to sending Walk Through Walls and Kyla La Grange that month and think I just went for something quick. Never gone back to it since.

Starsmith - Zeros - I liked it for a while, but it tired very, very quickly and I constantly forget I actually sent it.

So yeah, I don't know what was going through my mind in the summer of 2012 BJSC-wise basically.

Everything else, including my various other flops, I still love (yes, the Llama Song is included in that) although Limitless wasn't one of my best moments in retrospect.

Poor Bullitts having both of their entries named in this thread

Actually, maybe Emmon and Alyssa Reid too, they're definitely not among my best and they sound real weak these days.

But of course, that's your BEST entry

My last entry Wicked Games. Just don't like it anymore

I still listen to the others regularly

That Girl With Dark Eyes - Drop It. I think I just tried (and failed) to chase trends, but I stopped liking it pretty much when the semis finished so I didn't even care that it came last in the final

At least my other entries that may have been chasing trends bit, such as Basecamp, were songs I genuinely really liked.

Maria Illeva - I Like - DNQ

Keemo - Beautiful Lie [DNQ]

Klaas & Bodybangers - I Like [DNQ]

Elena - Midnight Sun [DNQ]

War Of Words - Battleground [DNQ]

Havana Brown - City Of Darkness [DNQ]

Swedish Angels - Your World Is Mine 31/31

Jessica Lowndes - The Other Girl [DNQ]

Wet - Dreams [DNQ]

XIII or XXIII?

(I'm guessing you mean Never Gonna Dance Again and Riverside?)

XIII or XXIII?

(I'm guessing you mean Never Gonna Dance Again and Riverside?)

Yeah I'm referring to Riverside (motherfuker), so XXIII.

You know what I meant!

Jasmine - Hot Lovin' is the big offender. Entering Skinny Love as a protest at everyone confirming the obvious big hits in XXIII is also something I wouldn't enter again now.

Also I don't really care for Viktorious - When We Were Ten, Ro Danishei - Michelle, Washington - Holy Moses, Lisa Miskovksy - Lover, Moxiie - Dance In The Dirt or Milla Jovovich - Electric Sky anymore.
