February 28, 201412 yr Rather awkward that they've forgotten Rihanna. 'Diamonds' is a mere 2k+ off becoming her 4th million selling single (following 'Love The Way You Lie', 'Only Girl (In The World)' and 'We Found Love'). Pharrell's achievement of being involved in 3 million sellers within 8 months is fantastic, but for MW to hype it up with a false stat in relation to The Beatles... oops. The press will probably run with this "fact" as well. Poor RiRi! :snif: :P
February 28, 201412 yr Paloma still miraculously grasping onto #8! She must have had a very good lead over John Legend, Zedd and David Guetta at the start of the week that is rapidly being eroded. I wonder if all three (plus Katy possibly) will overtake to deny her a top 10.
February 28, 201412 yr Maybe the OCC just forgot 'Only Girl (In The World)' existed. I don't blame them. Gwon Pharrell tho *.*
February 28, 201412 yr Who was the last act to get more than one million seller in less than a calendar year? The Beatles? I don't think even Rihanna took that short amount of time! Incredible achievement, and well deserved with three great (albeit overexposed) songs too.

Incredible achievement, and well deserved with three great (albeit overexposed) songs too. Pharrell got more than one last year, plus the following Spice Girls did it in 1996 (Wannabe + 2 Become 1) Robson & Jerome did it in 1995 (Unchained Melody / White Cliffs of Dover + I Believe" / "Up on the Roof) Frankie Goes To Hollywood did it in 1984 (Relax + Two Tribes) Boney M did it in 1978 (Rivers of Babylon" / "Brown Girl in the Ring + Mary's Boy Child – Oh My Lord) Englebert Humperdink in 1967 (Release Me + The Last Waltz) The Beatles in 1964 (Can't Buy Me Love + I Feel Fine) and in 1963 (She Loves You + I Want To Hold Your Hand) Edited February 28, 201412 yr by Leonardo
February 28, 201412 yr Also John Travolta & Olivia Newton John - 'You're the One that I Want' & 'Summer Nights' in 1978
February 28, 201412 yr I thought that too but apparently "Summer Nights" got its millionth copy in 1979 according to Wikipedia.
February 28, 201412 yr Has there ever been a time why a single returns to number one after being in the chart for a long time? I can't remember haah

February 28, 201412 yr Has there ever been a time why a single returns to number one after being in the chart for a long time? I can't remember haah When Frankie Laine's I Believe started its third run at the top in 1953 it had already spent 15 weeks at number one.
