Been writing lots since the start of the year! I cant share them with you guys just yet, but I've put some new lyrics up on tumblr for the meantime http://gabrielleaplinofficial.tumblr.com x

Gabrielle Aplin has posted some lyrics on her official tumblr that hint to be on her follow up to 'English Rain'.

'I lept in to the present age

Possessed myself with a holy rage

Cause I’ve found someone else to blame

I’m not alone I’m just afraid

I went down to the river of death

I try to believe but it makes no sense

Buried myself in a shroud of coal

Maybe it’s true and ill never know

Where’s the fire?

Where’s the rain?

Where’s the ocean I made?

Trying to find a language a language to speak to my demons

Trying to recommend myself for release

Oh my soul you’ve been down for weeks

Nailed to the perfect apology

Shade in a colour I don’t recognise

So amazing, so divine

Where’s the fire?

Where’s the rain?

Where’s the ocean I made?

Trying to find a language to speak to my demons

Trying to recommend myself for release'

'Somewhere On The Avenue

I see you in the headlights

I see you in the headlights

1916 resolution

Architecture evolution

Somewhere on the avenue, life is good and good for you

The circle of the spotlight

Silhouette against the dark night

Hundred storey elevation

Futurist delineation

Somewhere on the avenue, life is good and good for you

But it’s so far away

It’s so far away

Unrealistic expectation

Rich imagination

I see you hidden in between the lights

People scattered on the skyline

Bound for glory in the night time

Casting shadows on the pavement

Like the people who have made it

Somewhere on the avenue life is good and good for you

No matter what it takes,

Let it take from you

One day you won’t come back

You’ll come back someone new

But somewhere on the avenue,

Life is good and good for you'

I am rather excited for this, I loved all her singles, and most of 'English Rain'. 'Home' is sublime so I'm looking forward to seeing what she's going to come up with this time around!
Definitely looking forward to this! 'English Rain' was among my top 5 of 2013 and all of her material prior to that is sublime! 'Home', 'November' and 'Evaporate' replicas for album #2 please :kink:

Very interesting sound from her, switching it up a bit from the debut album! Enjoying the title track a lot although I'm hoping we do get more Panic Cord/Salvation type songs.

I love that! Very nice change in sound even if I would have loved another 'English Rain'.

I take it that it's not a single though?

She hasn't announced it as a single and the video is not on her Vevo page, but then again, either is Salvation :(

Really liked her debut, Hope this can be a success but I think she's in danger of becoming the next Sandi Thom -_-
The new track sounds decent at first listen. I wonder what the rest of the album will sound like. [/intrigued]

Already proved wrong  Doing much much better on iTunes already than I thought it would (I didn't think she had much of a 'core' fanbase), Hopefully will be a successful era for her.

Omg, Light Up The Dark is fantastic. I love the retro sound to it, I love that it's uptempo, and I'm very impressed with Gabrielle's vocals, having never heard her sing with that much power before. Great to see Radio 1 on board too!
I'm very impressed with 'Light Up The Dark'. :o I wasn't quite sure where she could go next and was expecting more of the same as last time, but this is a nice departure!
Heavy heart is pretty unmemorable. I like the title track from her new album though. Not sure if I will buy it yet but English rain was an amazing album.

New song and music video

I really like it, reminds me a bit of Alphabeat!

It's Alphabeat and Feist circa 2007-08 mixed together! Brilliant :o
