i don't see why people are fretting over The Saturdays, they'll probably be added next week anyway. (not that they really even 'need' the support tbh, they can get a top 10/15 hit from their fanbase alone, imo i'd rather see lesser-known artists like Josh Record getting the support instead)

I think it's more that 'Dark Horse' is 2 weeks AHEAD of everything - Radio 1's support of it has been more or less in line with their usual according to the track's impact date I think?

Which simply symbolises how 'impact dates' are a farce and used by radio 1 as an excuse to play or not to play a track which is clearly popular with the public - eg 'Coldplay Magic'. It goes back to radio refusing to support OA/OS but im sure enough has been said about this issue by myself.

Best shock of the playlist - Josh Record getting added/David Guetta stalling for a 3rd week in a row

Worst Shock - Magic remaining in the c list <_<

?! No, it symbolises how impact dates are used by record labels as a guide to tell radio stations when to play the songs...
That impact dates are a joke and radio should so more flexibility with their playlists!

The days when Toni and Madge were still relevant ;)

How would they know WHEN to playlist a certain song? Most songs only start climbing when their RADIO AIRPLAY increases. Dark Horse is an exception to the rule.

Chart runs like Dark Horse happen a lot if

1) it's a popular artist

2) the video is released before radio plays begin

3) if the song is actually good/popular

4) if there's any other early promo and the song takes off

Basically if radio was more flexible by adding songs further up the playlist which it has only done on very few occassions (sometimes it feels like a forced higher addition) it would help songs more and stop situations like Dark Horse getting its highest amount of rotation on a impact week which is long irrelevant chart wise.

Radio inflexibility stopped OA/OS from having any chance to take root in the uk charts meaning we all have to wait weeks upon weeks to buy a single available everywhere else in the world sometimes. It's a ridiculous situation in 2014 and we are seeing the effect with single sales declines which have only just begun!
