Okay I admit it, I recognise the fact Radio 1 are snubbing 'Don't You Want Me' for the completely ridiculous reason that it was released in 1981.

I thought it came out in 1982 or 1983 but damn it came out during the birth of the whole "New Romantics" & New Wave" era.

I don't care that they aren't playing a random 80s song but them having to play it in the top 40 will just be a big "f*** you" to their general ethos.

Next Soft Cell please "Tainted Love" :D That would be amazing.

Rihanna - SOS was a massive hit not long ago though.

8 (!!! wow) years ago now! I'd say that was a while ago :o
 love to see the track back in the charts, my favourite Human League track

Not mine - I heard it so often at the time, that I'm thoroughly sick of it now.

I really am struggling to understand this. Why would having to play an 80s song once on a non-playlisted show be a 'f*** you' to them trying to appeal to a younger audience?

This argument is stupid even when it's referring to current songs but you're reaching here.

Gotta love football fans :drama:

Pretty sure that them not playing this will be the final nail in the coffin of my love for the chart show though.

^ :o Why is Parade so high all of a sudden? Featured in an ad or something I presume?!

 #12 Avicii - Addicted To You

Coming for the top 10 soon. What an incredibly successful era for him.

Didn't think Don't You Want Me would get that high, I don't think the track will get any higher now, I should imagine the track will enter around the top 20 in the official chart, by the end of the week hopefully higher, if the track still hangs about in the top 5.

Unlikely - I mean, how many Aberdeen fans can there be... :P

Word Up down to #10 :(

Poor Little Mix - I don't think we can blame airplay, it's getting OKAY airplay. It's the song, a mediocre cover. & They should have performed it at the start of the week somewhere.

I think airplay has been a part of it tbh. Radio 1 haven't a-listed it and Capital haven't playlisted it at all, which is quite unusual for them with a Little Mix single.

Is the 2nd Horrors single So Now You Know not available to chart because its a 2nd single off the pre order?
With regards to the Human League, I can see the song overtaking John Legend to get to #3 before it starts to drop. I doubt it's only Aberdeen fans buying it though, its visibility on iTunes is probably leading quite a few people to buy it who know it as a classic and have no idea why it's back. Because of that I think it can stick around at least long enough to chart quite highly this week, hopefully top 10 as that would be incredibly surreal! It'll probably be out of the top 40 this time next week anyway though.
