So Summer by Calvin was storming up the top 40 yesterday when available but has fallen back as the pre order took precedence again - just symbolises how pointless preorders are!!

 

Good to see Aloe Blacc doing decently, should be top 10 next week!

i'd LOVE Changes to be #1, but i still think 5 Seconds of Summer has it in the bag (seems i'm the only one who thinks that though so idk)

 

I'm hoping for a miracle and Duke Dumont will get two weeks because that 5SOS track just bores me to death...

I think 5 Seconds will be like the Vamps and sell 90k max imo!

Poor Little Mix - I don't think we can blame airplay, it's getting OKAY airplay. It's the song, a mediocre cover. & They should have performed it at the start of the week somewhere.

Okay?! Its airplay is abysmal. :lol: It's not even top 50! The only station that really seem to be playing it is Radio 1; I certainly haven't heard it on Capital or any local station.

I think Duke Dumont will have a 2nd week at #1, the Faul song is too low on pre-orders for it to be a proper challenger (normally #1 singles go at least top 50 - Tsunami being the recent exception but that did go top 60 which is higher than where 'Changes' is right now) and I can't see 5SOS making it.

I really am struggling to understand this. Why would having to play an 80s song once on a non-playlisted show be a 'f*** you' to them trying to appeal to a younger audience?

 

This argument is stupid even when it's referring to current songs but you're reaching here.

 

Well it makes perfect sense to me, I can imagine them all tutting in the office when they have to play it haha and Jameela telling all the babies to ask their "mummy and daddy" about it haha

Yeah, I can imagine her saying "Ask your parents about it", but to be fair the song IS old (although I would imagine most kids would know it anyway, since it's a very famous song).

 

We have old songs re-entering the chart all the time, and Radio 1 nearly always play them as far as I know, so I don't think they have a problem with them.

That 5 Seconds thing, I don't see that really going to #1 next week, if Duke Dumont is already on 69k, I reckon he get a second week at #1

lol true, but most songs Drake features on don't make top 100. Who Do You Love is definitely one of the catchiest songs though!

I do hope so, though I reckon it will do what The Vamps did and be a front loaded number one on the first update but Duke will outsell it by the weekend
