Any news on hoe Belinda Carlisle's latest Best Of album is doing? Top 40?

a) Belinda Carlisle is not a hoe

b) does it look like we have a top 40 :(

If Kylie can stay like 2,00 behind George then Sports Relief could potentially lift her to #1 on Saturday. I think this album is going to do quite well, although I don't think she'll have any hit singles from it unless she has a good video for the second single!

As much as the whole world adores Kylie, this whole 'Kiss me Once' era has been a huge mess-up, from the weak lead single to the lack of promotion to the wrong timing, not to mention the 10$ budget video and her last few performances which were mostly in small pubs and gyms.... all this didn't help her at all...

on the other hand, George Michael hasn't released anything since 2004 (apart from some promo singles) and Symphonica is his first new recorded material since 10 years... Kylie just messed up with this release and if her managment doesn't do anything to fix it, then I'm sure that, by the time she releases her nexr album, she would be as relevant as Kim Wilde or Sinitta...

GM's album is a live one.

Sinitta is ALWAYS relevant!

And equally worth remembering that George Michael is one.

But his hit rate of #1 albums is higher than Kylie's - That said happy for either artist to get the #1 spot as long as we get decent sales for both!

But his hit rate of #1 albums is higher than Kylie's

That's what I was saying... :P

To be fair, I can see the strategies behind those two things you mentioned.

She made a surprise appearance appearing at a small pub in London to generate press and attention for the "OMG, Kylie made a surprise appearance at a place like that" factor.

The gym thing was Mastercard promotion which was shown as an advertisment during the Brits and was actually a really useful promo tool, in that same thing Pharrell made an appearance in a school classroom...

It's going to be major struggle for Kylie to keep the era going with the likelihood of any hit singles from the album being slim at best. I can only see the era going the same way MDNA did from here on in...

Of course I want her to do as well as possible, but I'm being realistic.

MDNA's first week sales look great now when you consider the fact that Madonna did no UK promo for the album, and the lead single was ignored by radio (though 'Masterpiece' was A-Listed on Radio 2).

I think Beautiful will actually do well..... of all the songs off the album it is the one charting best in ITunes singles charts across the world..... a Voice performance and a remix version etc and that's another top 20 hit....

Into The Blue will do well this weekend and will be around for a few more weeks yet.....

Sexercise video.... lets see what this brings tomorrow..........

world tour coming up............. that will grab a few more sales later in the year

a updated version of KMO for Xmas with added songs from duet with Will I am, B-sides etc............

an appearance on BGT or X-factor - Cowell will want this to piss off the Voice chiefs........

Relax Kylie fans..... relax........

As much as I'd love it to, I doubt it will do anything :( it's not all bad though, as I have tickets to see her in May :cheer:
