PSY is still a one-hit wonder to me. Yes, 'Gentleman' did not badly but that was off from a massive worldwide smash and hype, and the fact that nothing else did appear from him since then proves my point.

What, after Show Me Love hit the top 10 in 1998?

In my mind that was one of THE great chart comebacks, although Blondie and Take That would also qualify for that, along with many others.

Yes. I was completely amazed to see 9 years later it was the same Robyn coming back to top the charts! Flo Rida I thought would be rapper of the month too and that he'd never grace the top 20 again after Low. How unfortunately wrong I was......

Steps were probably seen as going to be a one hit wonder when 5,6,7,8 came out. But then they just went bigger with each new single and then of course Heartbeat/Tragedy happened!

He was being sarcastic (I think)

I thought he was talking about With Every Heartbeat being Robyn's potential one hit.

I know a lot of people forget but she had a clutch of hits in the 90s - a top 10, a top 20 and a top 30 here and two top 10's in America!

I thought he was talking about With Every Heartbeat being Robyn's potential one hit.

That's what I thought too.

BTW - no 'this week's purchases' thread?

Which is what I thought the interpretation was also hence why/how I replied. #grifffail

Tatu & Evanescence both managed to get a few smaller hits after a mammoth debut.

Also OneRepublic could have just disappeared after the Timbaland duet - I think Ryan Tedder is the reason they have sustained a long term position in the charts

It was on my 'to do list', I just hadn't yet got round to it. Now open!

I wasn't around at the time, but BA Robertson - Bang Bang is a song that seems to have "one-hit wonder" written over it - however he did have several other hits afterwards.

chuckie & LMFAO when they released 'let the bass kick in miami bitch' in 2009 and it went top 10. WHO KNEW they'd be back 4 more

inspired by the fact im listening to it right now. ttuunnee

That post makes it sound like Chuckie wasn't a one-hit wonder when he was. But yeah I didn't expect either of them to come back until Guetta announced his new single would feature LMFAO

As said before in this thread, every dance act that pops up with a massive Top 10 song. Rudimental and Disclosure obviously appeared with #1 albums later, but we had second/third songs from Breach, Duke Dumont, Clean Bandit, Le Youth, Martin Garrix etc. I'm still waiting for Klangkarussell to release another song :D

Slightly on topic, but when Gotye released Making Mirrors, there were two other songs he could have released post-Somebody That I Used To Know that could have got him consecutive T10 hits, especially off the back of such a massive song. Not holding my breath for Vance Joy though atm...

David Guetta and Calvin Harris back in 2007.
Pixie Lott.

Justin Timberlake.

Westlife.

T.a.t.u

Really for those? Care to explain why?

Kesha Tik Tok had one hit wonder written all over it :0)

I can't say I agree with that one at all, they were planning a sizeable launch for her afterwards.

I did think Katy Perry until I saw the video for 'Hot n Cold' (still one of the best videos ever).

I'd say Carly Rae Jepsen is a one and a half hit wonder.

David Guetta and Calvin Harris back in 2007.

David Guetta had his first Top 20 hit in 2003 with 'Just A Little More Love', but didn't get his first big Top 5 hit until 2006 with 'Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)' in 2006.

I agree with Calvin Harris, but managed to get another big hit with 'The Girls'.

I could also add Bob Sinclair here. 'I Feel For You' got to Number 9 in 2000, but took him 5 years to get another big hit when 'Love Generation' went to Number 12.
