I think george michael will catch the roger daltrey album.

Yeah that just confirms that 5SOS will 100% be #1 (although Tuesday's update kinda did that) There is no way Duke will overcome a 45k gap. Anyway it's been ages since we last had a fanbase #1 (I'd say the last one was 'The Club Is Alive' - all the boy band singles since then seemed to have some cross-appeal. I did think 'All Time Low' would be a fanbase #1 at the time and it turned out to have a very good chart run so for all we know 5SOS could do the same although I doubt it)
I'm not sure if they all are, but my HMV has both copies of 5 Seconds Of Summer's physical. Can't remember the last time I saw a CD single in there (X Factor winner aside) so there must have been high demand.

I was tempted to but both to add to my collection, though decided against it. :P

I got both in HMV last night (contributed 5 sales now *.*). First CD single (other than Sam Bailey) I've seen there since Story of My Life I think. Must be a boyband thing

Sam looks like she'll have an incredibly backloaded (?) debut week - the Mother's Day effect is alive and well. She's already more than doubled her first day's sales and still has three days to go. She could actually go silver by the end of the week, which I never would have thought possible based on Tuesday's figure of 15.7k. Pretty respectable, considering the half-arsed nature of the release.
5 Seconds Of Summer have extended their lead, it looks like.

Their lead over #2 is a few hundred smaller than yesterday anyway - but keep in mind that the #2 today is different to the #2 yesterday :P Duke Dumont has been gaining on them since the first update, though of course is still miles behind and has no chance of catching them this week. (He only gained on them by <1k yesterday so they're obviously still selling quite a lot outside of the single track on iTunes, which supports the likelihood of them remaining top 10 next week even if the track drops out of the top 10 on iTunes).

Good to see 'Loyal' already matching the peak of 'Fine China', should easily becoming his highest peaking single of the era. It's actually a good song by his standards so minor yay 4 that

Quite a dance orientated Top 5 in the singles, minus the number 1 of course!

Oh and I finally bought FAN BASE ACT Katy B's album today so expect that to bounce back into the Top 500 on tomorrows update. :P

Good to see Jimi Goodwin look like he'll make the top 40, probably would be higher if people knew who he was. Hopefully Elbow will climb back towards (or even into) the top 5 again after today.

I didn't know who he was until your post made me check Wikipedia - I don't know how I feel about a solo album but as "There Goes The Fear" is one of my favourite songs of all-time I think I'd better check it out!

I didn't either! It was only because he's supporting Elbow next month when I see them that I thought I'd see what he was like, listened to the current single 'Oh, Whiskey!' (which is good) and knew as soon as the vocal kicked in it was the lead singer of Doves.

I think Kylie may be able to hold on to a Top 10 position - it seems likely Elton John will overtake but MCR are dropping and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the week.

Good to see that Sam Bailey is selling consistently well so far, on track to pass 50k at this rate. Just a matter of how well it will do in future weeks though - could be gone within two months.

I would have thought that most people who are likely to care about a solo album by a Doves member would probably know Jimi Goodwin is a Doves member?

(I didn't know that but I'm not really familiar with Doves' music, I did like 'Kingdom Of Rust' (the song) a lot though).

With the 5SOS single dropping like a stone on the iTunes chart, I wonder if it has ever happened that Sunday's number one single (which it surely will be) wasn't even in the iTunes top ten at midnight Saturday, at the point of the sales cut-off for the week?

Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band 'The Official BBC Children In Need Medley' was not within the iTunes top 50 during its second week at #1 IIRC (and I think it may have peaked at #11 even during its first week there).

No change for the album , single still falling and may leave the top 40 by Sunday

fingers crossed she can keep top 10. Elton will pass her and Shakira may as she has Voice promo on Saturday... but Kylie is singing Into The Blue on Saturday's Voice too and maybe Beautiful with Enrique so good too
