May 15, 201510 yr Went to see it about 2 hours ago. Very good. A bit cliched and predictable in places, but it was a decent sequel. Not a patch on the first (but that was always going to be a big ask) but a solid effort. Some genuine lol moments and after avoiding the trailers and just rewatching them, in that final trailer there were a couple of parts which would have been funny in the film, but weren't used at all! :( None of the performances were as good as the ones in the first film for me although 'Flashlight' was a BIG/spine tingling moment. Especially with what happens during the performance. Very smart! Although the Fat Amy solo could have done with being a minute or so shorter, imo Overall verdict: As far as sequels go, this will absolutely do. A fair amount of funny moments and jokes that will satisfy the true fans of the film. The only negative for me is that it was all a little cliched and predictable, but a decent effort! EDIT: Also very nice (but RANDOM) to hear 'A Different Beat' by Little Mix in the film!
May 15, 201510 yr I never saw it. Worth seein it? How does PP measure up against Mean Gurlz? Edited May 15, 201510 yr by #BJSCFLOPPERRRRR
May 15, 201510 yr I never saw it. Worth seein it? How does PP measure up against Mean Gurlz? I'd recommended seeing the 1st one if you haven't seen it- really good film :) Mean girls is better though :) Definitley seeing this on Sunday and may see it tonight with friends (depends whether we can get in!)
May 15, 201510 yr I agree with Jonjo that it was a decent sequel, but it was no where on the level of the first film (as expected).
May 16, 201510 yr Don't leave too soon, the best moment comes after the initial credits  The segment with The Voice, I was laughing more at Blake turning back around than anything else in the film! I agree with Jonjo that none of the songs/performances were as good but I thought there were some inspired choices, glad I hadn't looked up any of the songs they'd be doing beforehand!
May 16, 201510 yr Author Oh my god I loved it! *.* It felt like a completely different film to the first so I'd say it's difficult to compare. I liked the new characters, Emily and Flo, but their introductions meant that Stacie and Cynthia-Rose became more like extras unfortunately. There were so many performances, it's hard to pick a favourite but I think they were just as good as those in the first film! The Treblemakers also felt a bit redundant, especially as there was so little of Jesse featured. I think they should have done something more with the plot between him and Beca because it just felt like he was 'there'. A bit too much Bumper but it meant more Fat Amy and far too much Benji (who has put on SO much weight). Highlight was possibly in the first performance when ACTUAL BARACK AND MICHELLE were there but there were many laugh-out-loud moments aside from the plot.
May 17, 201510 yr I think I would've enjoyed it 10x more if I wasn't watching it in a cinema full of animal like creatures. This is why I don't like watching big blockbuster hits at the cinema.
May 17, 201510 yr Loved it but it felt like there was just a little something missing which stopped it being perfect :( The songs and characters were great again and I probably preferred it just more than the 1st movie   And a massive argument erupted during the movie between half the audience for 5 minutes

May 17, 201510 yr I felt the middle of the film dragged a lot, and the climax/ending was rushed. Some funny quips but quite cheesy. Solid 3/5 though.
May 17, 201510 yr What were they arguing about and why were they arguing half way through a film? :\ UGH. EXACTLY! Why do the general British Public pay £10 or so to go to a film and act like animals from a f***ing zoo in it? The mind boggles ....
May 17, 201510 yr What were they arguing about and why were they arguing half way through a film? :\ UGH. There was a group of people talking a bit and supposedly taking the mick out of the movie and the people in front turned around and started screaming at them about how rude they were being and to shut up and it turned into 5 minutes of screaming insults at each other :drama: the climax/ending was rushed. This was my main problem with it as well :kink: Massive box office success for this :cheer: :cheer: $70.4M in America and £5.1M in UK :cheer:

Highlight was possibly in the first performance when ACTUAL BARACK AND MICHELLE were there but there were many laugh-out-loud moments aside from the plot. Flo was amazing! Emily was great too, I'd much rather have a full studio version of Hailee doing "Flashlight" than having the Jessie J one. I love Benji, he just comes across as so cute and adorable. Barack and Michelle were hilarious, the cameos were definitely highlights for me, I loved all the chat shows / news reports about the Fat Amy incident. My favourite performance was probably the riff off but I agree with those saying it dragged a bit, could've been ten minutes shorter at least. For one we don't need to hear Christmas songs in the middle of May :drama:
May 19, 201510 yr Saw this last night and thought it was completely bonkers *.* I was expecting something a lot worse than the original but that wasn't the case at all as I was laughing through the whole thing. I agree that Flo and Emily were both great additions to the cast. The music, however, was a major letdown. A couple good performances but I was generally unimpressed with every song. Particularly DSM- they didn't sound all that special to me so the idea of them being favorites to win worlds was impossible to grasp. Team Canada sounded best to me, and I didn't realize they were played by members of Pentatonix :o. That said, the reprise of 'Cups' was a very nice touch, and two major highlights were Fat Amy singing to Bumper and the bonus scene during the credits
May 22, 201510 yr I really feel let down by the sequel :( It's funny of course and the music is great, but the heart of the first movie just isn't there, I can't put my finger on why though.
May 28, 201510 yr Just went to see this, it didn't quite live up to the first film but it was still a decent effort. I just felt it was a bit TOO bonkers in places and rather cheesy/cliche, with not as many laugh out loud moments as the first film, and FAR more of Bumper than I needed, such an annoying character. Mega cringe at his segment in the Fat Amy duet. Having said that I still adore the concept of the music mixed with the plot and it was lovely to see all the original cast again. Some pretty funny moments in places and I found Emily to be a very welcome new addition. Amaze moments when both the Obamas and Snoop Dogg came on too. With the music side of things the song choices didn't do it for me as much as the first film (although mega *.* moments at the inclusion of Nero's 'Promises' and Natalia Kills' 'Problem'!) but I bloody loved the addition of the German team, they were fabulous. So not quite up to the truly incredible first film, but still a decent if a bit OTT follow-up that had just about enough endearing/genuinely comical moments to not hinder my enjoyment too drastically despite its flaws. June 5, 201510 yr For me the problem was the new characters. Flo was nice but a bit too desperate at times and Emily was quite terrible. Like, not particularly bad as a character herself and she had her endearing moments but they gave us basically no reason to care about her, yet expected her to be the big emotional heart of the movie. The 'Flashlight' part of the world's performance was so obviously coming and... hard to justify. It's a song written by a girl that basically none of the cast has had any meaningful positive interaction with and yet they bank on it being good enough for their super mega important performance. And don't get me started on her singing 'Flashlight' in the riff off. That could only ever be seen as incredibly narcissistic or impossibly dumb and "I panicked" was really lazy writing for an excuse. I mean it's a really good movie with lots of funny moments and some emotional highlights too (I actually enjoyed Bumper/Fat Amy to some extent) but I really couldn't deal with how contrived everything to do with Emily was. It felt like she had no justification for being in the plot outside of "get the fans to like her so we can focus a sequel on her".
