April 1, 201411 yr that's a pretty uninspiring list for a first quarter - most of the great ones date from 2013 - and only one big selling new release (Clean Bandit). Let's hope the second quarter picks up a bit!
April 1, 201411 yr Big gap between #4 and #5. *between #3 and #4. 'Hey Brother''s 500k-odd total is over 2013 and 2013. It's only 20k ahead of #5. :P (and 270k behind 'Timber' for this year, wow!)
April 2, 201411 yr that's a pretty uninspiring list for a first quarter - most of the great ones date from 2013 - and only one big selling new release (Clean Bandit). Let's hope the second quarter picks up a bit! I remember that was the case for the equivalent time in 2013 - 'Thrift Shop' and not much else. All the really big hits arrived in the summer.
April 2, 201411 yr And of the three big hits of that summer, only one had emerged by this point last year - Blurred Lines.
April 2, 201411 yr Get Lucky was out before blurred lines in the UK though? Or was GL not one of the big 3?
April 2, 201411 yr Author Get Lucky was out before blurred lines in the UK though? Or was GL not one of the big 3? I think he means that 'Blurred Lines' had premiered around this time last year whereas 'Wake Me Up' and 'Get Lucky' hadn't been heard by the general public yet
April 2, 201411 yr Get Lucky was out before blurred lines in the UK though? Or was GL not one of the big 3? Get Lucky was an OA/OS release in late April/early May timeish. I think Blurred Lines had been floating around for a month or two before it really picked up.
