April 6, 201411 yr To be honest I don't find the terrorist reference that offensive. It's an ill thought out analogy. But his attitude f***ing stinks. Did he not have a homophobic rant about Lucy Spraggan or something? I am not actually sure what that story is
April 6, 201411 yr I got put off him with the sleeping on the streets story, the fact every judge said they could hear his 'pain' and reuniting his family with his audition #awwwhataspecialpersoncrap. You should have heard my pain in listening to a voice that sounds like it always has a sore throat and wailing that is devoid of emotion.
April 6, 201411 yr Its not acceptable that someone like him in a position of influence is doing songs which potentially promote extremist behaviours.

He was shown to be living in a wee room, not the streets, so I don't know where that sob story came from  I was just like 'go for a shower'
April 6, 201411 yr LOL I think everyone confuses him with this guy: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...ctor-panel.html
April 6, 201411 yr Does he not have mental health problems? There was talk about him considering suicide at one point. Yeah that's probably why there's a song on the album called exactly that, Thomas. I've tried to defend him in the past, but it's a bit disturbing now that his excuse for lyrics like these are that they're "not for him, they're for another artist" or "they're telling a story", etc. He's just a really troubled person who evidently does need a bit of help. It's like people want him to fail though, you just need to take a look at the first few responses in this thread. I'm sure he'll still release music independently however; we've still got the 'All the Worlds a Stage' mix-tape to come!
April 6, 201411 yr LOL I think everyone confuses him with this guy: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...ctor-panel.html  No, I remember him. But James Arthur did state that he'd been sleeping rough in preparation for his audition.
April 6, 201411 yr His worst moment was probably this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v611/JL5386/ScreenShot2013-11-20at222504_zpscdbee89c.png
April 6, 201411 yr I don't think he's that bad. You see so many rappers these days with disgusting lyrics and they never get picked up on it. Lucy was being a twit in my opinion, and what he said to her was personal, it was she who broadcasted it all over Twitter. I dont actually like James Arthur at all, but he is so talented and I think it's just a case of people loving to be offended and needing a hate figure really.

I agree with you to an extent. I think the outrage to a lot of his comments and antics has been somewhat overblown as, like you say, there's an element of people loving to have a public hate figure. There's no denying that he's made terrible mistakes and displayed a very obnoxious side to his personality, but he rose to instant fame in a world dominated by social media and seemingly had a tough upbringing so there's a certain amount of context that must be considered IMO. It doesn't excuse his behaviour at all but everyone deals with the pressure of fame differently and it's likely he needed a better support system to help him cope with everything and make sound decisions, particularly thinking before tweeting etc. He just annoys me because I think he has immense musical talent (I don't understand how some people can't see that, even if his music isn't their thing) and he's tarnished himself through his ill-judgement and stupidity. April 6, 201411 yr ^. Popjustice's submission for his cover was quite comical also :D. :D! I think James has been actively trying to get dropped so he can market himself as more of a 'credible' artist - but in the process has made himself look a complete knob and probably killed any chance of himself having a lasting career. Either that or he is just a knob in general. Either way, I hope we never hear from him again. Awful voice and awful personality to match.
April 7, 201411 yr I really hope James Arthur sails of into obscurity as thats where he needs to be. While i dont like him at all or im not that keen on his music i dont think he is cut out to be in the pubic eye and he clearly seems to have hugely struggled since the beginning. His attitude is all wrong and the way he verbally attacks people is so wrong and worrying that he needs to address whatever issues he has.
April 7, 201411 yr In the eloquent words of Adele: '[HE] COULD HAVE HAD IT AAAAAAAAAaaaAAALLLLLLL'. This guy's attitude frustrates me so much. He used to sleep on park benches for God's sake. HAHAHA. Agreed! xx
April 7, 201411 yr Prime example of how to self-destruct your career in 13 months. Good riddance. Have there been any other examples where someone has been dropped by their label due to them self-destructing their career?
April 7, 201411 yr What a c**t. Can't agree more with that. He deserved it, apologizing after he was given loads of chances to redeem himself and he didn't do it. He's not gonna get any further with his career now.
May 31, 201411 yr He will 'write' a book about his experience and become one of those celebrities who desperately try to stay in the lime-light by entering every reality tv show known to man.
May 31, 201411 yr Who tipped him to be bigger than Robbie Williams exactly? Certainly not me! Well-expected flop tbf.
May 31, 201411 yr Is there a reason why he's been dropped? His album can't of sold that badly. Surely, if he was dropped for his bad behavior, it would have been months ago?
