It's the iTunes thread. Of course people are going to post about the positions of their favourite songs. Having a sense of humour isn't compulsory to post here.

If you want to make jokes, gang up on people to make yourself feel good and type everything in capital letters, I think the place you're looking for is "The Lounge".

oh for goodness sake get a grip

my original comment was in good humour and was in no way "ganging up". it's amusing posting constant updates in the #400 and below positions for an act not many people know. why take the assumption that what i was saying was to be mean or nasty. it's very over-sensitive and fairly sad if you are unable to laugh at yourself.

Ryan, must you really be so uptight? like all the time? my sense of humour is fairly deadpan and dry, i've spoken to you one and one and told you i have no issue with you. if you can't take a joke you are the one who looks dour and as if you have a stick up your arse.

The Sheezus single release actually helping this then! (Although it's probably down to more people pre-ordering rather than taking interest in the song itself sadly)

Jessie J's last ever appearance in the top 10 about to come to an end!

And what a way to go out! :puke2:

While the first sentence is all correct (even though I wish it weren't, jokes are never bad), the Lounge hasn't been like that for at least two years (we want no forum divides any more okay?). The new era of mods wouldn't stand for any sort of bullying mentality, and I certainly wouldn't.

You have to admit the capital letter thing was spot on though :D!

It's hilarious but we must STAY ON TOPIC (soz for the capitals, non-lounge folk)

I hope you're right, though I can see her getting another 'It's My Party' before she rots. I'm still surprised they never tried 'Sexy Lady' and don't seem to want a re-release of this album but I'm not complaining.

Well, I have been trying to cut back as CERTAIN people (Griff) have a tendency to overuse but yes.

But yes, enough Lounge chatter, get back to discussing numbers and positions etc. Good work, good work.

People's, MOVE ON NOW please! I thank you!

It's a shame that the only jokes I've made in months had to get deleted though. :(

But onto some good news:

If Ryan had just listened to me telling him to stop posting pointless Lena updates...

(in all seriousness though I really don't understand why you continue to do this Ryan, I assumed it was meant to be partly a joke but seeing your reaction to criticism of it I'm not sure of that any more?)

Anyway can we all be friends again now plz

Does it actually annoy anybody though? It's just a number followed by a couple of words (and a hyphen, full-stop and some spaces) lol. The guy who had a go at him said he was just joking anyway, so clearly he doesn't mind either. I don't see any harm in him posting it.

Ah The Saturdays, that'll restore the forum to unity once again :P.

The Lena updates are actually pretty interesting to be honest. I still have no idea what's behind the massive fluctuations she has, for example, considering the advert is on a pretty regular schedule?

No one finds it annoying just humorous. But this is not a place for laughs :nono:

It's not necessarily 'annoying', it's just posted far too frequently (and often is the only thing in a post which is just a little bit spammy) for a song/artist that very few people (possibly only himself and Umi?) care about.

i find it amusing. i find it slightly bizarre posting anything below the #200 because it doesn't really mean anything? it's nowhere near charting, nor does it suggest it's particularly popular with people. how many sales do you require to get to #400 on itunes briefly exactly? not very many i imagine.

though as i said who am i to spoil somebody elses fun? i like reading train track atlases of the british isles. everyone finds pleasure in a range of things others may not. the ability to see the funny side and laugh at these unusual kind of things makes life so much more enjoyable. there's so much that is quite funny in this forum. having a bit of humour around things isn't a bad thing surely.

If the advert is on during a prime-time TV show (e.g. X Factor) it can cause a bigger surge than usual, so that's probably partly responsible for it. That used to happen with the Yeo Valley Farm song we were talking about a while ago as well, it used to get huge boosts whenever it was played during the X Factor ad breaks.

I don't know, but I think the #200 in the official chart still sells over 1,000 doesn't it (maybe vidcapper knows)? So I imagine a song that hovers around #400 would be selling hundreds each week at least. Obviously iTunes isn't the whole market, but songs usually sell in similar proportions on different sites anyway.

All this fuss for such an average song. I love Lena but I wish it had been Satellite or Taken By A Stranger had been getting this 'success' :( (I agree with Rob that so much advert exposure should have seen it top 200 at LEAST by now).

Loving how quickly Calling All Hearts has fallen, such a boring song.
