As much as I hate to admit it, One Direction's new song is pretty decent, and has a very clever music video to go with it.

 

I defiantly think their more mature and slower songs are their best.

Needs to be reduced to 59p :(. Didn't think it would be a big hit but wasn't expecting it to struggle this much (was hoping for at least a 'Figure 8' so she could continue roughly on a 'Halcyon' trajectory before unleashing her 'Burn' later in the year). I'm sure the song is doing its job in terms of selling the album though with the album's current boosted chart position, in addition to the temporary iTunes discount of course. I suppose a lot of rational consumers aren't going to buy a song for £1 when they can buy it along with 11 others for only £4 extra #microeconomics :magic:!

This worked particularly well for Adele when Make You Feel My Love had a resurgence shortly before she released her 2nd album! :lol: It wasn't an album track though, but still a similar situation.

 

If Lana gains even one third as much benefit as Adele did, I'll be delighted. :)

Was never expecting Cash Cash to be at #4 above Calling All Hearts :o

I haven't noticed Sara Bareilles is still at 47 :o So close yet so far! She sold well anyway.

and I bet she ends up just missing out by next sunday at something stupidly annoying like 41 :(

This is interesting, the main version of this song should of course be ineligible but as this remix is a single release, the OCC are going to have to either not count these sales at all despite them being perfectly legitimate or only count these sales which they apparently can't do. Or count the 'ineligible' sales as well allowing the song to chart highly via loopholes. Hoping for option 3.

I suspect it will be ineligible. As its a remix of Midnight then its sales will be included wiht the album track and as we know they won't seperate the sales of instant grats and single versions

I think it's poor in 2014 that they're unable to distinguish instant grat sales and stand-alone sales.
