'Sing' is his best song imo.

JT 13 now

Are you usually a fan of his music?

It seems to me like a song that "religious" fans wouldn't be keen on but new listeners would.

I'm just not a fan of his more upbeat songs to be honest. I was the same to 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'.

THIS!!!!

I adored "+" EXCEPT YNMINY and Sing is not good again... I hope his album will be good.

Opinion klaxon: Ed Sheeran is one of the worst acts out there right now.

In a more chart specific sense I do think Sing is going to harm him in the long run, despite obv being a big hit in its own right.

Ed Sheeran is the absolute pits. There are so many artists in the same vain that are much better. He is so average.

Sam Smith performing on Graham Norton show next Friday, oh well that's the #1 single sorted for the following week. :drama:

So... Rita Ora, Sam Smith and probably Klingande or Secondcity, more 1 weekers at #1 coming up :(

Then after that, maybe Ed Sheeran, Ella Henderson and 5SOS. :( Aren't we due a 'Get Lucky'/'Blurred Lines'?

I bet you there will be a different #1 every week from now till Xmas  That really sounds so scary

I wouldn't bet against Cheryl Cole outselling Ella Henderson, and she'll probably hold off 5SOS too

You're all forgetting Gary Barlow's England World Cup song which is bound to be #1 in June during the tournament (until England get knocked out).

Why is this moving up the chart so fast all of a sudden?

Be careful what you wish for. Would you really want a chart that's stale? I think the more number ones the better. Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting.

Agreed.

A number one spending at least two consecutive weeks at #1 doesn't make the chart stale.

there isn't really much problem with '1-week' #1s (considering some of them; My Love, Hideaway, Nobody to Love etc. have been huge hits regardless), just more with ones that don't have much longevity. but that's all down to the frontloaded/held-back nature of the chart these days I guess

(in other words: OA/OS chart pls!!!!)

Having a different #1 every week for a long period of time is quite boring especially when those #1s are extremely predictable, but every song spending several weeks at #1 would be just as boring.

They got several weeks at the top due to the fact they were massive songs plus the nature of their release which meant they grew in popularity after release not before through pre orders which we can see from this yr 99% of the time stifles sales of a track

I also see Clarity is a pre order now?? Just shows how stupid the chart is these days!

Good news for you Steve, is that Clarity is not a pre-order but is charting off cherry-picking sales

Molly after tonight, hopefully. With 10 weeks at #1 and End of Year #1!
