John Legend gaining on #4 with his multiple versions. A 1-2-3-4-5 chart run in sight for Sigma ?

Hopefully Katy B can hold on to get a third week in the top 10.

Gary Barlow Number 2 :yahoo:  :yahoo: and matching the original peak is wonderful and the sales that are side by side with it are excellent, is 20,000 possible for him this week now?

Yes, he sold 3.8k yesterday so 6.5k over three days shouldn't be a problem at all :).

I reckon Fancy is at #9?

yep!!! you answered your own question :P

It's bittersweet that Paloma is Top 10 this update :(

How so? It's a good song keeping a bad song out of the top 10, win/win :magic:

I believe John Legend will pull ahead of Sigma and Kieza and return to the top 3 :cheer:

He may overtake Sigma as it's very close between them but he's not significantly outselling Kiesza, so I think he'll probably end up #4 at best unless he gets a boost over the weekend. Would be interesting if he does overtake Kiesza though as it'd mean we have a 1-2-3-4-5 run and a 1-2-3-4 run at the same time (not to mention another 1-2, although with a 1-2-1 messing things up :P)

Top on lock for Paloma then! Sad Radio 1 haven't supported her, she could have had another platinum campaign. Surprised that her second single could outpeak her 1st!

I think her album has a fairly good chance of going platinum anyway. She's nearly halfway there already and still inside the top 5, if her longevity so far with the album (and the success of the singles) is anything to go by the album will be sticking around for quite a while yet.

I meant to say double platinum, which would be doubtful anyway with today's album sales.

(Taking into account that you meant double platinum) Would Radio 1 airplay really have that much of an impact on her long-term album sales? She's getting good support from the Radio 2 type stations that lend themselves better to album sales and the idea that she's snubbed by commercial radio stations in general is a little outdated considering the growing airplay of her current single (which was played by 188 stations last week).

I can see her album holding up very well over the coming months and crossing platinum before the major Christmas sales weeks so I wouldn't say double platinum in the long-run is out of the question anyway.

Dat Molly slayage :yahoo: Hopefully it goes top 30 by the end of the week, with the first few hours of The Eurovision Effect™ happening on Saturday night
That's that then, I doubt Anastacia will remain top 10. I know it's OTT but it often sickens me how shit the general taste of the UK has become. Paloma bagging another top 10 makes me feel slightly better though.
Massively relieved 'Let It Go' has been squeezed out of the top ten! :cheer:

Surely it doesn't matter a great deal? My favourite artist (Lucie Silvas) hasn't had a single top 10 album, but I enjoy her music and that's what counts really. Anastacia's album is pretty good, she's not someone who needs huge chart success right now, so there's no need to get uptight about it :P

It doesn't matter as I'm used to all my fave artists constantly flopping and I didn't expect the album to be doing anywhere near as well as it has been but I'm currently pissed off about other matters and I'm taking it all out on the charts I'm afraid.

If only Maroon 5 were still in the chart.

Really disappointed about Paloma knocking out Let It Go, it's probably the last week it'll get a chance. On the other hand it does make for a brilliant chart run.

This is a cause for celebration, not disappointment. :kink:

The best album chart top 2 ever comes from 2004 and looks like this:

1 Anastacia-Anastacia

2 Maroon 5-Songs About Jane

Nothing else has ever come close.

I'll have to disagree with you there. Both decent tracks, but "Let It Go" is better and it would be really good to see something like that crack the Top 10.

Except:

1. The Corrs - Talk On Corners

2. The Corrs - Forgiven Not Forgotten
