OK! Magazine online have said they have details about the next series of Big Brother, due to start next month. They'll reveal the premiere date on May 16 along with some other details! Very exciting, hopefully we have fab moments in store on the level of "SHE DIED ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF ME" and all things Gina Rio

I thought you were applying too? :o

Anyway, I am SUPER excited for this! I am ready for it to take over my life for another Summer!

This should be some enjoyable trash to occupy the otherwise vacant TV scedule this summer. Hoping the vibe is similar to last year rather than the nastiness of BB13

I did, but I did not get through :(.

Viewing figures for this will be quite low in the early stages because of the World Cup but it should pick up once that finishes (or when England get knocked out)

This series is titled "Big Brother: Power Trip" and C5 have said "Whoever has the power will be able to influence, twist and control events in the house like never before" but exact details of what this means have yet to be confirmed..

I've seen June 5th thrown around as the start date too. VERY intrigued by this

Not excited. They ALWAYS hype it up with the promises of TWISTS and POWER TO CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!!11 but all the twists turn out to be CRAP.

It talked about the viewers also having some control which I'm not too happy about. The only power the viewers should have is to evict. I like how C5 are making it more of a game/social experiment but 'Secrets and Lies' was more intriguing at this stage.

Also, Luisa is going to be a roving reporter/regular panelist for BBBOTS as well as on BBBOTP. She confirms in her statement that Iain Lee is back though :(

I'd love it to be more like the head of household in BB USA maybe but I doubt it will be anything huge, launch twists do usually let us down... Still amazingly excited, and with Luisa on board I'm definitely going to be making an effort to always catch BOTS
Well the last Big Brothers have been great so I'm up for more twists and turns but at the end of the day its about getting entertaining housemates, looking forward to it!

Here we go! : Big Brother : POWER TRIP launches Thursday 5th and Friday 6th June

So it'll be going by the name of 'Big Brother: Power Trip' like the 'Secrets and Lies' tag of last year.

I have my guard up for this season already.

I guess it's what the process would look like, if they're going to adapt to the BBUS Version (HOH, Veto, House Vote) then it will fall on the Casting.

Could you imagine not only losing Sally and Jemima, but also Dexter and Gina in the first 4-5 weeks last year? They were clearly the most unpopular in the house, but the Public saved the latter because they were able to show entertainment value in a "Vote to Save".

I have no doubt that the Brits can show a level of savvy in game-play - however the casting needs to be right.

The one benefit in BBUK is that you can form attachments to particular individuals. Wherein BBUS, you really only watch 3 days a week so if your favorite goes, you only really saw them in a minimal time frame anyways.

WORRIED.

A special live show will be airing on 9 June after the highlights show, called Big Brother Power Trip: The Live Surprise. A big twist apparently...

The housemates are apparently "savvier and brighter" this year as well, they've all been IQ tested, and Rylan said that some of them have been "on the cusp of fame" so I guess Sallie 2.0 may be a good call as she probably could have gotten away with being on CBB if, for example, Danica and Jasmine did :P

There'll also be some involvement of technology and contact with the outside world, not sure if I want that but it's at Big Brother's discretion so I guess some elements of the power trip will involve glimpses of knowledge into tweets or something? I'm not sure I like it but I guess if it's as part of the game and manipulated by BB it'll be ok.
