Congrats to Austria, a decent winner, if not one of my favourites. Good runner up too, glad Sweden's rather overrated thing didn't come close in the end.

We got 40, a bit more than we did last year. Small victories.

I just noticed Greece. HOW. When they've got top 10 so easily before.

France getting only 2 points sucks a bit too. But the focus is all on Conchita, this feels like such a moment.

Genuinely upset, even sending a genuinely good song won't shut up the "IT'S ALL POLITACAL" brigade. :(
I think Austria is gonna win by a big margin. :D

Spot on! :yahoo:

Sanna who? So happy Conchita won!

Ruth Lorenzo in 10th place! Yes baby, you're great!

Not one of my favourite winners at all but it definitely made the most impact and just WOW at a top two of Austria and Netherlands, Eurovision's perennial underachievers!

And she was amazing at the preview party too, really sold the song to me!

Praying for Sanna to get a top 40 hit next week!

Shocked how badly Greece have done :o it's a real disappointment for Molly but not an absolute disgrace I suppose, at least it's not bottom ten.

It actually was 10th last. :(

Just realised France did so so badly :( Really quite surprised, I thought songs like that would get at least some attention

This will only fuel the arguments unfortunately, I dunno what we can do next...

My parents are telling not to watch it next year and they're really annoyed that we did so badly and that Austria won.
Superb song, what a performance of it aswell. Obviously the 'bearded lady' tag has helped it, but if you just take it on song value, it is an absolutely amazing song, very Skyfall-esque.

Part of the reason I'm so pleased with the top 2 is this. They're both amazing songs, but they're completely different countries to those normally in the top 10, in recent years they've been underdogs, and this is something we can throw back in the face of those who'll berate our failure on political voting.

Any country can do well if you send the right song. Looking back on Molly's performance, I don't think it was good enough to do the business (still should have not have finished below Belarus though and that's just insulting).

I don't want to be all dramatic but I'm not sure where the UK goes from this? It almost feels as if we will never get an ESC Top 10 again at this point!
I really thought Molly would do well, it was a better song from most of the previous contests, maybe we should send Katie Melua to represent us.

I'm actually pissed we lost to Austria of all countries! If a woman without a beard had sung that song it wouldn't have got much higher than midtable. + The political message of the song was the same Israel had in 1998 which was 16 years ago!!. It's actually saddening that so little has changed over the years.

But heyho, second is a great result for us!

Shocked at Greece and Azerbaijan under performing!

I suppose, in a sense, I shouldn't be surprised. It took me a while to absolutely love Children Of The Universe and that's not taking into account the patriotism that likely made me want it to win. Anyone who just watches on the night doesn't have that growth time, nor are they British.

I still thought it'd AT LEAST be on the left hand side, gutted for Molly. :(

The problem is nobody with half a career will touch it - It doesn't even guarantee a UK hit and record deal representing us anymore!
