Right simple enough and like I did for Madonna's first album, just vote for your fave track from the "Like A Virgin" album which was released in November 1984 and boosted Madonna to even greater fame by scoring her first USA #1 with the title track, and proved that she wasn't just a one trick pony and in fact all 5 singles from the album became massive hits with the iconic follow up single "Material Girl" which reached the top 5 in several countries (USA#2, UK#3), then Angel while not as memorable as the others it still became a massive top 5 hit reaching #5 in both UK and USA. "Into The Groove" while not on the original version of the album it was later included on the special edition version due to it's massive chart topping success and then final single "Dress You Up" which caused a bit of controversy but still became a top 5 hit.

 

Other standout tracks include "Over And Over" and "Pretender" which both have that classic 80's dance pop sound, then there's the Rose Royce cover "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" where Madonna becomes more soulful and later re recorded it on her "Something To Remember" album, but this version did top the charts in Japan. "Stay" is also a nice enough track but quite forgettable and the only sore point is the awful "Shoo-Bee-Doo" which simply doesn't work.

 

"Borderline" won the vote in the last round with 6 votes from her first album "Madonna". So just for fun what's your fave track from this album.

Very hard choice between two my favourite Madonna songs ("Like A Virgin" and "Material Girl").

 

 

I would say ITG but I'm going for Angel.

'Into the Groove' for me too. Was quite hard to decide out of that and 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore', both great songs but too different to compare really.

 

I think this could be one of my favourite proper pop albums after listening to it a few times recently. Love all the tracks, with the slight exception of 'Shoo-Be-Doo' which I just like.

Material Girl, possibly my fave Madonna track.
