June 23, 201411 yr  It actually wasn't, I was just sorting through everything so it took a little longer than "shove everything in the wardrobe" :kink: (lol at how this has turned into a documentary about my room-tidying in August 2012) I'm one of those people who can just easily put a song on repeat and enjoy it just as much each time. If a song's that good, it won't get boring, IMO. Ah I get what you mean, I'm kind of infamous in my family for hoarding. :P I think if I were to listen to a song all day, I'd have to at least have others in between, most likely from the same artist. I suppose I just think that if you do something special too many times in a certain amount of time, it will lose that specialty about it.
June 23, 201411 yr I like some songs so I listen to them a lot, some songs are okay and I listen to them sometimes and songs I do not like I do not listen to Omg that is the EXACT same as me :o !!!1!! Twinsies
June 23, 201411 yr More than 15 times a week for me. Generally, if I really love a song, I can easily listen to it 100+ times in a week. Edited June 23, 201411 yr by Envoirment
June 23, 201411 yr A couple of times a week is plenty for me. My Winamp stats (reset when I purchased this laptop about 18 months ago) tell me the most I've listened to any track in that time (on that platform anyway) is 7 but I do have over 15000 tracks on there and it is on random for 99.9% of the time. There's 5784 tracks that haven't been played at all in that timespan! This of course excludes CDs in the car and what I play on an Ipod while out, but again that's mostly on random so it wont be many plays for any individual track. I can now understand how some people are getting sick of tracks so quickly, they've played them more in a week that I've probably heard any song in nearly 40 years of listening to music!
June 23, 201411 yr I have a really bad habit of listening to songs I'm obsessed with over and over and over again until I can't bear to listen to them any more, so the answer depends on my level of obsession.
June 23, 201411 yr I can't bear to listen to songs on repeat. The only case I will immediately replay a song is if it's my first time listening. To answer the thread question, probably about 5 times on average.
June 23, 201411 yr It depends on how much I like it tbh. The week I first heard Braveheart I listened to it around 45-50 times, when Applause was first released I listened to it around 60 times on repeat on day one, so depending on my infatuation with the song I could listen to a track, at the most, around 100-150 times a week. But then if you're Sam Smith I've probably only listened to you around 3-4 times since your new single got released. Sorry Sammy xoxo Edited June 23, 201411 yr by CallumC97
June 23, 201411 yr Once normally. If it's a song I find really catchy I usually listen over and over again. But depends what you mean by "new". A lot of songs I discover have been out for months, sometimes years, but they're new to me.
June 23, 201411 yr 3-4 no matter how much I like it. Same, maybe 5 or 6 at most. My most played song of the year is Sanna Nielsen's Undo with 76 plays which works out at a little more regularly than once every two days since it first leaked. I get bored of songs that I overplay and probably listen to 300-400 individual songs a week as opposed to playing the same few over and over (that accounts for both new and old songs.) There are currently 65000 songs on my iTunes so I find it hard to restrict myself :P
June 23, 201411 yr On average if I find a new song I quite like I'll listen to it about 7-8 times that week, then likely forget about it for a long time unless I make an effort to remember to play it - like putting it in my yearly playlist. So about once a day - listening to songs on repeat is something I only save for the very best of the best and even then 3 times on repeat and about 5 a day is the max. Can't be listening to the same song over and over again when there's so much other music I could be listening to.
June 23, 201411 yr If I really like a song, it definitely gets played more then 15 times a day! (it must be about 20-50 plays a day, but it really depends on a song, my mood, my work, etc.) The current example is "Prayer In C" which got played 157 times over the last week (Mo-Fr).
June 23, 201411 yr Legit do not understand how people can listen to one song so much. My most played is only 146 plays and that is over the course of two years. A week I would say maybe 10 plays tops. This. I've listened to no song in my iTunes library more than 90 times in 2 years.
June 23, 201411 yr This. I've listened to no song in my iTunes library more than 90 times in 2 years. My top 2 played songs have more then 2000 plays each, and there are quite a lot of songs with 1000+ plays in my iTunes library.
June 23, 201411 yr There's no right or wrong answer, it's just a question of preference. I know when my sister gets into a song she'll just repeat it for hours on end but that would do my head in personally. For me, variety is the key and I have a short attention span anyway, plus I'd feel guilty playing the same song thousands of times because I'd know that I could be spending that time discovering other great new music. Who knows, I might find something better on my search than the song I'm currently hammering to death! I'm also completely divided between being a new music fan, always trying to be on the pulse with everything new and looking for amazing new stuff and a retro nut, wanting to find enough time to listen to my favourites of the past. Listening to one song ad nauseum wouldn't fulfill either of my music consumption personality traits as I'd just not have enough time left to do either.
June 23, 201411 yr Same, maybe 5 or 6 at most. My most played song of the year is Sanna Nielsen's Undo with 76 plays which works out at a little more regularly than once every two days since it first leaked. I get bored of songs that I overplay and probably listen to 300-400 individual songs a week as opposed to playing the same few over and over (that accounts for both new and old songs.) There are currently 65000 songs on my iTunes so I find it hard to restrict myself :P That's me too. At the moment I'm playing Miami Horror almost every day, which for me borders on obsession. The most I have ever played a song more than once in a day IN MY LIFE is no more than 4 times, 3 times a day is very rare. If I love a record I don't want to get sick of it, cos I know once you reach that point it can take years before you want to hear it again. I hope people playing the same record over and over don't play it loud cos someone is going to murder you one day! I recall one holiday where the confirmed bachelor next door played Gaga over and over and over and over and over and over. I don't mind the volume, but being forced to listen to the same track is torture to most people not sharing the obsession. It's like getting a box of chocolates and eating them gradually over a few days rather than stuffing them in your mouth one after the other till you feel sick... :o
June 23, 201411 yr About 3 or 4 tops, and that's only if I really like it on first listen, which is very very rare. I let songs grow on me as they come and listening to it about ten times in a row would just make me sick of it. It would be like listening to Capital or Heart, except VOLUNTARILY *shudders* Oh and my most played song on iTunes is 109. Edited June 23, 201411 yr by Chez Wombat
June 23, 201411 yr I only download songs I really like then i end up listening to them over 20 times. Sometimes with songs i'm obsessed with you're talking over 100 times
June 23, 201411 yr  My top 2 played songs have more then 2000 plays each, and there are quite a lot of songs with 1000+ plays in my iTunes library. On last.fm, my most played song in the last 12 months is already Shakira's 'Dare (La La La)'. It has a minuscule 41 plays.
