On Sunday (29th June) Ariana will be releasing one of the biggest worldwide pop hits of the year. It's been doing brilliantly on pre-orders and has stayed consistently in the top 200 ever since being put up for pre-order (2+ months ago). Majority of the time inside the top 100, with a peak of about #21 or something!

 

Some people think it'll beat 'Rather Be''s opening sales of 162,801, but some think it will fall short.

 

What do you think it'll open with and what do you think it'll end the year on?

I'm thinking it'll be 180k+ and ending with 700k+

 

I really wouldn't be surprised to see it open with over 200k, but I think I'm being a little too optimistic. I'll be surprised with anything less than 150k though...

I assume by sales, you mean actual copies sold and not the combined sales and streaming points right?

 

In that case I would say first week sales of 148k (if it was gonna outsell Rather Be then it would be much higher on iTunes than it is, but it'll still sell very highly due to continued top 100 slayage) and end of year sales of just over 700k. It's gonna be massive.

156K for first week sales & over 800K for EOY sales.

I can easily see this clearing 300k in the first week.

As much as I hate this, its kinda catchy in places, sales wise I really don't know, going for 135k+

Tough to know how much streaming will take off in it's overall sales, it'll only be minimal obvs but may make all the difference when looking at highest first week sales - I'd say 140-159k for the first week, and probably 800k+ for the end of the year.

150-155k. Its first week streams will amount to about 5-7k extra I guess.

somewhere around 165-170k f/w. not too great at predicting overall sales so i'll just say 800k+ ~

 

It should really beat Rather Be's first week (if this doesn't then I don't think anything will) but possibly only just I reckon' about 170k-175k.

125k and 550k are my two predictions. I'm still not convinced Ariana will be able to sell over 150k at all but I hope I'm wrong!

It's done MUCH better than Ella did on pre-orders (and has also been up for longer), there's no way it won't at least sell more than what Ghost did.

 

IMO it'll sell 160-170k and then 800k+ overall, although more for both would be good!

Yeah I agree that Ariana's pre-order has done better than 'Ghost', but 'Ghost' has much more widespread appeal in my opinion than 'Problem' does and therefore 'Problem' will be more "front-loaded" with its sales. I'll prepare to be wrong as always though, I did say that 'Anywhere For You' would go to #1 with 120k sales when it first premiered! :lol: Although I predicted 'Talk Dirty' to do the same when that first premiered and I was right in that case!

Anyway, I'm going to go for 150-155k with ~800k for a year-end total. Only Iggy herself is holding this song off from being #1 in America, it's going to be huge here.

I think it will sell 150k copies in the first week and a million in the long run, possibly by the end of the year, if you include streaming points.

About 155k first week and 580k at the end of the year.
