Posted July 18, 201411 yr ADORE the album cover. They did a live google hangout session thing on youtube and they played a couple of clips from the album. Looking forward to it. '#3' was a bit of a disappointment, somewhat, but their first two albums were very good! Excited to see if they go for a new sound (something like OneRepublic 'Natives' please!)
July 19, 201411 yr Hated everything I heard from their last album. The only two songs I really like from them are 'Breakeven' and 'Nothing' (maybe 'I Cry' too).
July 19, 201411 yr Not really fussed on them, all the songs I heard from them sound the same, and plus I couldn't stand that awful song with Will I Am
September 15, 201410 yr Man On A Wire sounds like it was written for Westlife or to be an anthemic X Factor soundbed...
September 15, 201410 yr I don't think I'll even bother listening to this in full. The snippets of the tracks I've heard sounds very boring and samey. Only 1 or 2 good tracks on it perhaps but nah I'm not a great fan of the album. They are proving to be on-off-on-off for me overall -_- Edited September 15, 201410 yr by Rob S
September 15, 201410 yr Paint The Town Green is more ambitious than usual for them. I like the Irish influence in the music, I'd love them to show more of their cultural heritage in their music.

I like the Irish influence in the music, I'd love them to show more of their cultural heritage in their music.'Paint The Town Green' and 'Hail, Rain or Sunshine' are my favourites on first listen of the album and I think the Irish influences in them are the reasons why. They use the Irishness to great effect. They should involve and adapt that sound into more of their songs. Other than those it's the definition of "nice", but nice just doesn't cut it enough.

I agree, it's an alright album, quite a pleasant listen actually but there are very few standouts or songs that try to offer anything different. They might as well use their cultural influences to change things up a bit, because when they do it works really well.
January 18, 201510 yr Man On A Wire sounds like it was written for Westlife or to be an anthemic X Factor soundbed... This is the next single... They're literally morphing more into Westlife as each single passes.
January 18, 201510 yr I am a Westlife fan and to me Man On A Wire doesn't sound nothing like Westlife... to me this is a typical The Script pop/rock song. I quite like the album, I don't know why all the negativity, I like it more than #3. I wasn't that excited when I first heard it because it sounded bit samey but it grew on me with each listen. I just wish they experiment more with Irish flavor like they did in Paint The Town Green, that is a great song. Edited January 18, 201510 yr by zeze88
January 18, 201510 yr Author 'Paint The Town Green' would be a surprise smash I think! It really should be released so they can see how big it would be and then they could maybe do more with that sound. I'm bored of them. I like them as a band, but everything is just starting to merge into one for them! :(
