Hopefully this will teach Maverick Sabre not to come back with a cover.
I wonder what it is that people aren't liking about MK's Always as much as every other song like that? It pulls the same trick as so many of the year's biggest hits yet it doesn't look as if it will even go top ten, bizarre! I can only assume we've finally reached the over-saturation point for 90s-esque dance songs.

here's my theory

• many songs of this type have already become hits so people are starting to get tired of it

• Always hasn't had as much hype/airplay as many other house songs of the year

• Always has been around for 9 months, so some house fans who heard it 9 months ago are probably bored of it by now

• many new releases this week = pushing Always down

• an opinion one I know, but Always isn't as good as a lot of other house songs of the year imo (others may think the same)

Wow great for Charli !

Does anyone know if there is an EP for Crazy Stupid Love with the remixes? Or are there remixes available on their own?

There are remixes on Amazon, but they're not on iTunes UK. They're on iTunes in the Netherlands and probably a few other places though.

1. Cheryl Cole - Crazy Stupid Love (feat. Tinie Tempah)

2. MAGIC! - Rude

8. Charli XCX - Boom Clap

11. X Ambassadors & Jamie N Commons - Jungle (Remix) [feat. JAY Z]

12. Neon Jungle - Louder

13. MK - Always (feat. Alana) [Route 94 Radio Edit]

31. Cher Lloyd - Sirens

67. Maverick Sabre - Emotion (Ain't Nobody)

You make some good points, but the 9 months thing shouldn't be an issue. I bet lots of #1 hits (of many genres) were around for longer than that by the time they got #1.

A good thing to compare it to is how lots of dance-pop songs started under-performing mid/late 2012, and after that they slowly started disappearing from the charts, and now today we usually only have a few in the top 40 each week. I think the same will happen to these house songs eventually, and ones under-performing like Gorgon City's latest single make me think we're in the start of the decline now.

even though I knew it wouldn't last, I can now OFFICIALLY say that Jamie N Commons has had an iTunes Top 10 hit *.* I feel like a proud father etc. :(

today is very good proof of why the chart forum posters should never underestimate the power of the Cheryl Cole name. hate to say I TOLD YOU SO ~

Behond her own popularity that I won't deny, the song has proven to be really popular, over one month and a half in the top100 and peaking at #27 on pre-orders, it was always going to do "well".

Anyway, #1 or #2, what estimations of her sales can you make for the first week, taking into account her lead right now and the fact she will be front loaded?

I always had a strong feeling that Cheryl would do better than most people expected but she's even exceeding my expectations here, how brilliant  Rude is a great track but fully supporting Cheryl for the #1 of course :D

Well strictly speaking it's been around 20 years! :)

When was the last 90s dance tune to chart on a new remix? Was it Altern8? It doesn't happen as often as I'd expect

Yap I guess it's over.

I don't think it's over after 12 hours. 7 days is a long time.

Rude is already down to 59%! Didn't expect this, honestly I prefer Rude but all you Cheryl fans are entitled to your opinion ~

I missed all of the important updates early on because of my overly-normal sleep schedule but oh well!

Team Boom Clap / Jungle for choice low top ten entry.

Next summer no.1 has to be Sigma/ Paloma, really sounds like the summersongs oot in the early 2000s, like for example Nola's Theme, and can't think of any other examples right now, but the sound, beat, lyrics and feel good sound of the song really really put me in mind of those.

well the popularity of the track itself will have a fair bit to do with this (if she'd come back with a weak single like say, a 'Boomerang', she probably wouldn't be getting such a big lead ). plus Crazy Stupid Love is a lot better than Call My Name imo, so I could easily get behind this reaching #1 <3

I can't see MAGIC! overtaking on iTunes until maybe Thursday, or Wednesday at the very earliest (I don't think Cheryl is gonna drop off *that* quickly tbh). hard for me to make a sales estimate, but since Rude will probably manage about 130k+ including its streams, I think somewhere around 150k (more or less) for Cheryl seems realistic (i'm assuming CSL is up for streaming now?) ~

Why does Cheryl always get number 1 with her worse songs? ('Call My Name' aside naturally).

What did CMN sell again>

Fight For This Love: 292,846

Promise This: 157,210

Call My Name: 152,001

FFTL and PT were released straight after her X Factor performances, and CMN had better airplay than CSL, so I expect CSL to do a tad less. 120/130K surely?
