July 27, 201412 yr Really? Wow, so no problem there then :P In Finland there have been a few as well (which basically means debuting at #1 on official singles chart too) Edited July 27, 201412 yr by SKOB
July 27, 201412 yr My mistake - checking through the archives "Get Lucky" debuted at 28, but shot to #1 the following week. It was released on a Friday though so that probably had something to do with the stunted first week position. Effectively it debuted at #1. :P
July 28, 201412 yr Haha at Cher Lloyd, glad Sirens just missed out. Really boring track & serves her right for snubbing a UK release of I Wish - a track I would have liked see go top 40.
July 28, 201412 yr It really is annoying that Cher's best release in her whole career is the one to miss the top 40 by a single place :( I do wonder what track will be the first to chart top 40 on streaming alone because Am I Wrong certainly won't unless it picks up between now and next Sunday. July 28, 201412 yr The No1 on the streaming chart generally sells 12k a week on the current 1:100 balance and the No40 single generally sells 9-13k eack week so unless it changes round the xmas period for instance it will be hard, esp as the No1 is generally a track already released Nico etc are just outside the top 10 in streams!
July 28, 201412 yr 5-18-45-64-75-81-90-OUT-95-94-97-85-87-98 Interesting chart run for Iggy's album. Only spent five weeks in the top 75 yet has scraped a top 100 placing in eight out of the following nine weeks. Clearly shows the impact of an enduring hit single.
July 28, 201412 yr "Pompeii" up to joint 12th in the "most weeks on Top 75" list with 63, "Radioactive" not far behind (58 weeks, 19th place) "Happy" finishes its top 20 run (for now at least) at 32 weeks, 5th all-time and now with 34 weeks in the top 30 breaks into the top 10 in that category. "Rather Be" notches its 26th Top 30 week and "Let It Go" the 25th, equalling the most weeks in the Top 30 without making the top 10 (record previously held by Andy Stewart's "A Scottish Soldier")
July 28, 201412 yr Author 'A Thousand Years', 'Pompeii' and 'Radioactive' are all pushing to take the decade-to-date record for weeks in the top 100 now - 'Titanium' is still first there with 86 weeks but Perri's latest re-entry takes her to 82 weeks, 'Radioactive' moves up to 5th place with 76 weeks and 'Pompeii' is 7th with 74 weeks. Christina will likely drop out again next week but the other 2 don't seem to be going anywhere any time soon, I'd be surprised if 'Pompeii' at least doesn't overtake 'Titanium' before dropping out.
July 28, 201412 yr just catching up on the chart~ oops @ rixton  delighted with mk reaching #12 (& #10 on sales) 22 years after always was first released  streaming really savaged cher lloyd, la roux + courteeners this week ~ looks like minor indie hits are going to be the biggest losers of the streaming addition
