August 3, 201412 yr And Bars & Melody are #1 on physical singles sales chart according to James Masterton, though it was obvious anyway.
August 3, 201412 yr Pixie Lott missed the top 100 completely in the end! This song didn't deserve that fate though. Poor Leah, majorly unfair. La Roux's album as well, oops!
August 3, 201412 yr Author 3 low top 40 new entries on the sales chart missing out overall this week, oops! Maroon 5 will probably climb in next week anyway. #29 for Vic Mensa on sales is still awful but at least it is higher than the peak of 'Confident' ~ And as a few have said already oh dear at Pixie missing the top 100 entirely, and not top 75 even on sales only! Rather disappointed to see we'd have finally seen one of those random Asian songs going top 100 if it weren't for streaming with Nafees entering at #86.
August 3, 201412 yr Pixie Lott still only reaching #78 on sales! massive yikes @ that great to see Vic Mensa scoring a top 30 hit, and Bakermat going top 10 :cheer: really proud of them <3 Edited August 3, 201412 yr by 7Seize
August 3, 201412 yr It's more surprising it's taken Pixie 4 years to get this irrelevant. I suppose not releasing anything for 3 of them helped with that. :P
August 3, 201412 yr It's more surprising it's taken Pixie 4 years to get this irrelevant. Doesn't look that promising on the album stakes  its released tomorrow
August 3, 201412 yr While streaming has clearly buggered up some artists' peaks for recent singles (Vic Mensa at #37 instead of #30, Naughty Boy at #45 and Leah McFall at #56 are all devastating), the likes of ZHU are completely unaffected (#72 on streaming, but still #3 officially). Hopefully record labels will start taking note of this and release to Spotify before the actual release, Nico & Vinz have done it right!
August 3, 201412 yr Incredibly impressed at Bakermat managing a top ten on sales with such little support :o The sales chart is again much more interesting than the combined chart, but oh well, got to learn to adapt!
I agree, however I do think for the likes of the 3 artists that you mentioned, they would never have been able to compete with genuine hits on streaming anyway. I believe the Naughty Boy single has already been available to stream for a few weeks now anyway for example.
August 3, 201412 yr I do think with all new releases they should put them up for streaming about 2 weeks before, as they seem to take that long to pick up after release by which point they're already slumping down.
August 3, 201412 yr Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do the mids not take streaming into account?
August 3, 201412 yr Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do the mids not take streaming into account? I think they do but a lot of the new releases that struggle on streaming also don't have the stamina to sell at the same rate into the second half of the week
August 3, 201412 yr Doesn't look that promising on the album stakes  its released tomorrow It'll be quite embarrassing if it doesn't even make top 10 on low sales considering Anastacia of all people has had a top 10 album this year. Edited August 3, 201412 yr by T Boy
