Your 'Say It Right' shade is terribly misplaced, Iz. Top 30 of the decade is neither "mid-table" nor "obscure".

Guys, I meant mid-table in terms of the top 60! And quite honestly, when you have a section containing 3 songs of absolute life it's quite hard to muster up any energy to write much about the one song in the section I don't have any really strong feelings towards.
Gimme gimme more gimme gimme gimme more 🎵

25 13 2005 Girls Aloud - Biology 333 (62 - 130 - 46 - 6 - 35 - 27 - 29 - 13 - 25)

24 18 2011 Adele - Rolling In The Deep 334 (8 - 18 - 24)

23 60 2010 Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name? 339 (36 - 65 - 60 - 23)

22 69 2010 The Saturdays feat. Flo Rida - Higher 346 (X - 152 - 69 - 22)

21 83 2006 Rihanna - Unfaithful 350 (102 - X - X - 78 - 171 - 83 - 21)

A section of big BuzzJack hitters here (plus Girls Aloud). Two of the remaining four tracks by Barbadian chart queen Rihanna drop out here but both set emphatic new peaks - one of her best songs, 'What's My Name?' featuring Drake, has made the final in three of its four appearances and only just missed out the other time. It improves on its debut position by 13 places. Two places ahead of it is 'Unfaithful', a track dating from the days when she had not a single #1 to her name (can you imagine?) and pretty much her only decent ballad single. In six previous editions it's made the top 100 twice, the top 200 two more times and missed the top 200 entirely twice more, but it sets a huge new peak of #21 this time around.

Another track reaching a new peak is Lee Wallace's favourite 'Higher' by The Saturdays and Flo Rida, the intro of which makes the Sats pretty much the only girlgroup I can instantly recall the names of (Frankie, Mollie, Unavanessarochelle ~) The song has got significantly higher up the Record of the Decade ranks every year so far, missing the top 200 on first attempt, just missing the top 150 the next, just missing the final the next and now just missing the top 20. Going in the opposite direction year on year so far is Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' which sadly leaves her without representation in this year's top 20. I'm sure she'll be fine though with all those Grammys and whatnot.

Girls Aloud.

More Girls Aloud shade in this thread, for a song you've not even heard! :( Bré / Iz, they were fab. Just admit it, get with it and stop the hate. ^_^ (And they were critically acclaimed don't cha know xx)

Anyway. Pretty surprised that 'Unfaithful' is so high up.

Bré has never heard 'Biology'?! :o

I'm speechless...

Biology is one of their best songs though Bré!!1

What's My Name getting major luv

Biology   Still Girls Aloud's joint best song

Unfaithful is quite good and I like what's my name but Rihanna has way better songs than them

I love rolling in the deep and higher is one of 2 Saturdays songs I don't like

Don't get the hype for Unfaithful, I swear Rihanna sounds way out of tune on the song, and it's not like she has a good singing voice at the best of times!

I actually really like Biology! Nothing wrong with it. (does that make up for it Jay? xx)

Unfaithful really surprised me by being so high up. It's so different to where it normally comes and it doesn't SEEM like it's gained that many more lovers. I'm very pleased though, still by far my Rihanna favourite.

20 86 2006 P!nk - Who Knew 350 (22 - 111 - 22 - 24 - 29 - 85 - 86 - 20)

19 53 2008 Saturdays - Up 355 (173 - 112 - 43 - 106 - 53 - 19)

18 25 2004 Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? 357 (29 - 38 - 11 - 153 - 33 - 5 - 11 - 25 - 18)

17 7 2012 David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium 361 (7 - 17)

16 132 2007 Britney Spears - Gimme More 362 (40 - 52 - 67 - 62 - 92 - 132 - 16)

So into the top 20 we go and we come across some essential Buzzjack tunes, as one might expect. First up, inching into the top 20 for the first time ever after a 2-time #22 peak is P!nk's highest offering, Who Knew. This one shocked me a little by winning the 2006 round and being by far P!nk's most popular track, but it is fairly amazing and timeless, so hurrah for a revival. 2006 is the second year we lose as we pass Who Knew, Unfaithful ending up just one place lower (that one came 8th in the yearly round!).

One place above it is again, the highest track from both an artist and a year - The Saturday's Up (also their best track, so inspiring and all). And for the past year it has only been going up (is where we could go from here, finest selection, this could take us anywhere). Gaining a new fanbase on here has done wonders for them it seems.

Gwen's first solo pop classic What You Waiting For leaves the competition at a very respectable 18th place. It has done better in past years but I'm sure most fans of it will be pleased with this, although we do still have 3 more 2004 songs waiting to take their final bow. Meanwhile, Gimme More gives us the only 100+ place climb in the top 60 to gain a clearly very well-deserved new peak. I won't pretend it's my favourite of Britney's but it's definitely the best single from Blackout and iconic among Buzzjack for a number of reasons. And for years I thought only Toxic and Everytime could be widely loved by Buzzjack. Well, there you go, Brit has another.

Finally, Titanium drops 10 places from its debut in the top 10. That's not a bad result really (especially as it was already worthy of top 10 of the decade at its age last year) but hopefully that won't continue too much in future editions.

What You Waiting For & Up

Gimme More :puke:

also Bray why haven't u heard Biology yet dammit. missing out on probably their best track :'(

I am in love with Gimme More at the moment so yay for that massive climb

Up is one of the Sats best and an amazing song, I love Titanium also

Who Knew is Pink's best and just an amazing song

15 10 2010 Robyn - Dancing On My Own 363 (20 - 7 - 10 - 15)

14 103 2011 Nicki Minaj - Super Bass 369 (110 - 103 - 14)

13 27 2007 Sugababes - About You Now 393 (24 - 9 - 9 - 21 - 56 - 27 - 13)

12 34 2007 Rihanna feat. Jay-Z - Umbrella 409 (5 - 2 - 3 - 7 - 28 - 34 - 12)

11 8 2005 Madonna - Hung Up 414 (21 - 27 - 17 - 82 - 26 - 6 - 6 - 8 - 11)

Robyn remains disproportionately popular on this website. 'Dancing On My Own', a mid-level #8 hit in 2010, drops out of the Record of the Decade top 10 this year but spends a fourth straight year in the top 20 and is still five places ahead of its debut showing. I quite like the song but I don't think it'd be anywhere near as highly-regarded here if it wasn't by everyone's favourite Swedish occasional pop star. We're still due one more song from her (the obvious one).

After two years of being within 10 places of cracking the top 100, Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' finally made the top 100 this year, then the final, and now it's finished in the top 15 of that final. I think 'Starships' is the much better of the two big pop Nicki hits but Record of the Decade voters do not seem to agree. Somehow I do not see 'Anaconda' doing this well in future editions of this game.

Sugababes' best song 'About You Now' has surprisingly only made the top 10 of this twice, both times ninth, though it has made the final 7 times out of 7 and now achieves its third best position by finishing at #13. It's been top 30 in all of those finals bar the one in 2012 where it somehow was in the bottom 5. From the same year (though it doesn't feel like it, if you asked me I'd place it as far more recent than 'About You Now') is 'Umbrella' by Rihanna and Jay-Z which has similarly made 7 out of 7 finals. It made the top 10 in the first four of those but fell out of vogue in the last two. It gets its fifth best finish this year with a big climb to 12th.

Finally at #11 is Madonna's 'Hung Up' in its penultimate year challenging for Record of the Decade. It has made the final and indeed the top half of the final eight times out of nine, reaching peak popularity in the last 4 years. It just misses out on a 4th straight year in the top 10.

Robyn is so overrated. Dancing on my own is nothing that good at all. She has only made 1 song deserving of top 60 (the one to come)

Hung up is pretty good, I always think its a 2003 song for some reason

About you now and umbrella are classics

Most of Nicki minaj's is bad (though starships, turn me on, where them girls at and a couple of others are good). However super bass is an absolutely amazing and fantastic song

Dancing On My Own still slaying  About You Now & Hung Up are both v good too. Super Bass i guess isn't that bad looking at it objectively, but it got intolerable during '11 due to overplay (mainly from my sister lol~)

ooh into the top 10! Euphoria still seems the most likely winner to me, Bad Romance and Toxic (or maybe even We Found Love?) could run it close though. hoping 'With Every Heartbeat' is in the top 5 again!

Edited by SevenSeize

Gimme More and that climb! So proud! THE best pop tracks in the past decade, for me! And damn, Hung Up should have made top ten :(
predicting a Bad Romance/We Found Love top 2. The latter was voted the best dance song of all time by buzzjackers so it should certainly do very well here too

Let's start the top 10 then! :D

10 32 2005 Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone 414 (18 - 26 - 19 - 3 - 11 - 12 - 47 - 32 - 10)

Kelly C returns to the top 10 for the first time since she took the bronze medal in 2009 in a result that was pleasing me all the time I was adding it up. Not least because it's very different to what happened last year, climbing 22 places from its second-worst result as it looked like its glory days were over, but also because Since U Been Gone is a fantastic pop-rock song and deserves it. At several points it was looking like it could even go top 5, which would have been quite the coup indeed. It's the highest song from 2005, so this'll be the last time we say it, it has one more chance to improve, although it's done pretty well for itself anyway. Next year (if it makes the final again which I'd say looks likely), it will be the only song left to have appeared in every single ROTD final. I'll let that sink in.
