Its weird because the year actually started with some longer runners like Rather Be/Happy. Its crazy how many one weekers we are having.

If he has so little confidence in his own song, then ISTM there's very little incentive to buy it...

Bit of a daft reason to not purchase a track, surely.

Plus it's not as if he is the one that's done it...

25 I think! We won't smash the record but I reckon we'll get to about 37-39 by the end of the year!

Who knows? David Guetta, Lilly Wood, Duke Dumont, Calvin Harris, Sigma, Jessie J, Meghan Trainor and Nicki Minaj are all strong contenders between now and October. Then the X Factor live shows start and the busy Q4 period kicks off.

The Q4 period isn't always that busy for the singles chart though. Some years it is, but others like 2011 there wasn't much going on, so I don't know what this year will be like.

22. Union J - Tonight (We Live Forever) Surely this is going to miss the top 10? I'm expecting it to be around #28 tomorrow on iTunes

Union J down to #24 now! Yes probs at #28 by close tonight.

But they have had a few remixes floating about and have probably sold several 1000 physicals, so who knows it might scrape top 10 in a poor sales week.

But whatever, it will only sell around 30k? in the 1st week then will drop like a stone. Not great for a lead single.

To be fair, I was expecting this to completely bomb so that's not a bad result considering they're an act pretty much in the dumper.

I said all along I don't see their second album being released, but I guess we will see about that later in the year...

Classic is on an ad! :D Glad to see it climbing again, could be in with a shot of a new peak in the coming weeks if it stays this high, as it's doing very well on streaming :o

True. I think the label did everything they could on this one and got some sort of result, but they must think it's way too much hard going for the sales...

I can't believe how held back Won't Look Back has been. I remember hearing him play it during his set at Lovebox and even then it wasn't exactly the first time it had been heard.

I'm sadly not liking 2014 as much as 2013 music-wise so far. We had an amazing string of #1s last year. Hopefully Q4 will get me interested. Rihanna must surely be dropping her new single next week. Unless she's going to just drop it all of a sudden in November. I'm dreading the return of Adele and Emeli although I sense Emeli could severely underperform if she's releasing new stuff around Adele's return. Maybe even Adele will underperform herself.

9. Prayer in c. The fake version.... This will cost the real one a lot of sales tonight.

The artist credit on Prayer In C is now 'Robin Schulz & LILLYWOOD'

decide and stick with it

I don't know, Maroon 5 still had really strong sales with Payphone despite the Precision Tunes version going top 10 officially.

It looks worse every time they change it. :(

 8. Prayer in C - The Mega Giants :drama:

08. The Mega Giants - Payer in C

21. MKTO - Classic

22. Robin Schulz & Lillywood - Prayer In C

26. Union J - Tonight (We Live Forever)

125. Maroon 5 - Maps [Out 24th August]

133. Lethal Bizzle - RariWorkOut [Out 24th August]

If The Mega Giants keep climbing this fast they could perhaps get to #5 before the original version is released.
Duke dumont has pushed back a week

Too scared of prayer in c then

That's so tragic. I know everyone harps on about The Vamps/5SOS being desperate but surely this takes it to new extremes. I seriously hope its longevity suffers, it's become unbearable.

That's a bit dramatic. I think it's fairly common for release dates to change.

I agree it's unfair that boy-bands get singled out so much though.

I don't see how it "takes it to new extremes", it's not as if this is the first ever single to be pushed back a week.

Most of the time it isn't so blatantly done because the record label is scared they'll lose #1 to a particular song though.
