Biography

Rather than the usual bombast or snooze-inducing "relaxation music," the U.K. six-piece known as Clean Bandit mash classical music and pop forms for an airy and dreamy yet driven sound that's like the chamber music version of house music. The core four-piece of the group were known as the Chatto Quartet, a classically trained string quartet that performed J.S. Bach and cited Jacqueline du Pré as an influence, but their post-show, wind-down music often consisted of garage, two-step, Craig David, and Arcade Fire tracks. The quartet members were aware of both producer Jon Wandeck and MC Ssegamic through the duo's work in photography, and when Wandeck suggested they play on one of his house music cuts, Clean Bandit were born. With MC Ssegamic on the mike, they released the classical-meets-house-meets-hip-hop-meets-heartbreak song "Telephone Banking" in the summer of 2011. Their Dance Armstrong mixtape followed in 2012, while 2013 saw the release of their Mozart's House EP. - iTunes

Happy could stay in next week thanks to X Factor and beat the record :cheer: (it can go after that though srsly)

Rather Be

Still loving this song

Nice fresh start to the chart

I swear 'Rather Be' wasn't in the update on Wednesday, it's clawed it's way back in, then. Fresh start to the chart.

Two oldies to start with: Happy, Rather Be

Is this now really the last week for these 2?

Pharrell's " Gust of Wind" will replace "Happy" in the Top40 next week probably.

A Top2 which revolves around bottoms beckons. All About That B'ass and Anaconda possibly.

"Rather Be" is still so good! ^_^

Rather Be made it after all.

I just worked out what All About That Bass reminds me of a bit - Sean Kingston, Beautiful Girls :o

What an offensive comparison!

Surely it's Happy's last week!

cough X Factor performance cough

What an offensive comparison!

I know :(

I wouldn't be so sure about it being 'Happy's last week, it's not far outside the top 40 on iTunes and there are 3 (apparently) ineligible X-Factor performance songs in there.

Plus his performance tonight will provide exposure, even if he doesn't perform that song.

Can "Lovers on the Sun" go now please? :P

Ooh another harsh drop and probably the last week for 'Lovers On the Sun'. Shame, I'm actually quite into it!

'Lovers On The Sun' is lame, but thankfully 'Dangerous' makes up for that.

I only liked Bad from his latest era, figures it would do the worst.

OMG go away Waves

I still hate this song so so much
