Pitbull premiered a new song today with Ne-Yo that sounds lifted out of 2011/12  Hopefully it won't end up a hit

I heard it, it's f***ing DIRE.

How many songs do we need like this? It's pretty much self parody.

Thankfully, most of the songs like that don't do well anymore (only really Calvin Harris). Its certainly not like 2009-11 levels!

Its a shame Ne-Yo is on this as his new song 'She Knows' is far superior, as it sounds a more credible version of Dark Horse  The trend has been for 'urban' artists to return to their roots and stop making eurodance music.

I'm wondering whether the Xmas songs will be kept much lower this year by streaming and if the streaming of Xmas songs will more likely occur later in December so the Xmas songs will jump into the top 40 for only a week before Christmas Day?

What I'm asking is did the Xmas songs slowly rise the streaming chart last December?

I think streaming will massively help Xmas songs this year, might even see Mariah sneak into the top 10.
Most likely the latter. Whatever the usual week they enter the top 40 in previous years I can see them entering 1 maybe 2 weeks earlier this time round.
I don't think any Xmas songs are in the top. 100 on streaming yet. The downloads seems to be slightly slower too although there's plenty of time yet!
Ed about to take over from Gareth in the next few hours - just as CIN is to start!

Album pre-orders have finally been added onto 'Fool's Gold' (took quite a lot longer than the previous instant grats for some reason).

'Blank Space' already up to #6 with two 1D instant grats ahead, I don't think we've seen a post-album single take off this quickly from a video release since 'Telephone' unless I'm forgetting something obvious :o

Shame to see Tom Odell as low as #13, I still expect him to pick up more as Christmas approaches though.

 84 Charli XCX - Break The Rules

I know I asked before but does anyone know why this is? At the weekend it had fallen south of 200.

I hope it's simply the great British public realising their mistake and it's going to become the hit it deserved to be, but there's gotta be more to it. Any ideas?

It's getting a hell of a lot of exposure in mr_aly posts :D

(It is 59p although it may have been before as well, in which case I have no idea).

Yep, that's gotta be the reason!

Pleasing to see, whatever the reason. I thought it'd be a big hit when I first heard it, but something went horribly wrong. I remember I was disappointed with its preorder performance, yet others were convinced it'd pick up with airplay (that never happened)...

Yeah, they made it 59p midway through release week (not that it made any difference, but alas).

How strange... hmmmm. I guess I must keep spreading the word until it's #1! :cheer:

She did a mashup of Boom Clap and Break The Rules at the EMA's on Sunday maybe thats helping it aswell

Airplay doesn't really pick up until 1st December IIRC. That's when most stations starting including more christmas songs in their rotation. And streaming should be very helpful to Christmas songs. Could see quite a few enter the top 40 because of it! :cheer:

69. Lorde - Flicker (Kanye West Rework)

I'm not including the One Direction instant grats because their positions aren't reflecting what they're selling individually. The popularity figures below are still in relation to the One Direction track that is #1 though.

xx - 0.2815 One Direction - Where Do Broken Hearts Go (#15 on iTunes, between 'Shake It Off' & 'Yours')

Cheryl still holding up well, #10/#44/#48 on iTunes is quite deceiving!

So brilliant that Ella's at 12 with all the 1D tracks removed. Really hope it can stay there until release but think it may start dropping, would be amazing if she performed it on CIN, or if it was used during one of the stories they show on there I think it could boost it top 10. But that's just wishful thinking.
