So pleased Fleur's performance has had a big impact both for her and the original version. The original is very, very underrated/under appreciated. It's gorgeous. Fleur's performance of it was stellar too. Her rise in popularity is reminding me of Alexandra B's rise on the show. (Obvz Fleur doesn't 'quite' have the vocals technically - but I'd argue she's a lot more polished all round than tha Burke)

Tom Odell coming for that second top 10 hit and first top 5 this week. :D

Christmas update:

148 Mariah Carey All I Want For Christmas Is You

522 Leona Lewis One More Sleep

526 Michael Bublé It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas

541 The Pogues Fairytale of New York

646 The Pogues Fairytale of New York (feat. Kirsty MacColl)

769 Roy Wood & Wizzard I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

813 Run-DMC Christmas In Hollis (Bonus Track)

866 Wham! Last Christmas (Single Version)

895 Wham! Last Christmas (Single Version)

947 Mariah Carey All I Want for Christmas Is You

948 Shakin' Stevens Merry Christmas Everyone (Single Version)

1059 Chris Rea Driving Home for Christmas Download

1060 Band Aid Do They Know It's Christmas?

1228 Matthew Hall & Meagan Moore When Christmas Comes to Town

Delighted for Tom Odell, wonderful talent. I also adore thinking out loud but i would like Tom Odell to achieve number 1. The number 1 is more important to Tom in my opinion as (A) Thinking out loud has already reached number 1 and sold loads, (B) Ed Sheeran is huge and returning to number 1 this week will have no major impact on his career, © Tom Odell has not had any huge hits and in comparison to previous Brit Choice winners he has very much under performed in both album and single sales success (D) Real Love has the potential to move Toms career to a higher level and boost sales of his album.

Mariah and Leona the highest 2 Christmas songs is great, i love both. I had hoped Coldplay would have become a seasonal hit and the Killers Christmas singles too but it did not happen, i live in hope Leona can manage success this year and future years to come.

Paloma Faith at #49, not *too* bad after it barely went top 1,500 on pre-orders but really odd to see the song not catching on after 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' becoming her biggest hit plus a #1 as a feature and another fairly big top 10 hit (not to mention the album doing very well).

Maybe it's down to the simple fact that it's just not that great a song

Fairytale of New York is quite far ahead of Leona combined. She's never going to get hers as popular as Mariah and Pogues (not this year, at least) - They usually always manage a couple of weeks top 20/15. But I'm hoping she can do similarly to Last Christmas, Sneaking into the top 40 around 35 - 40 for a couple of weeks.

There's a Union J instant grat at no 74

 8. Sam Smith - Like I Can

Still climbing. Looks like it could just about manage top 5 on iTunes this week.

Samuel is slaying. Fourth top ten hit from In the Lonely Hour this weekend (unless you count La La La, in which case it'll be the fifth).

Sam Smith is on fire atm. Didn't expect him to potentially score 4 consecutive top 10 hits from all of his single releases thus far. Just hope Veronicas can hold strong when he jumps past them.

Taking streaming into account, I should imagine the official chart might look something like this:

1. Ed

2. Tom Odell

3. Cheryl

4. Gareth Malone (really hard to tell what will happen with this)

5. Meghan Trainor

6. One Direction

7. Calvin & Ellie

8. Sam Smith - Like I Can

9. Taylor Swift

10. Sam Smith (INTOO)/The Veronicas/John Legend

It does look as though Jess and Lisa might *just* miss out unless they dramatically ramp up the pace, they're not going to be able to compete much on streaming in their first week. No doubt they'll be top ten on sales though, which will make it absolutely infuriating.

66. Nico & Vinz - In Your Arms.

Is this is pre-order or has it been released today :o

Looks like it was instant grat released. The single pre-order is still there for 30/11.
lord what a dull top 10. even the most POP songs there are tepid and diluted fare, it'd be nice to get a little more RISK and BOMBAST back into the charts.

The Killers xmas tracks are classics too me, they just didnt get radio support for whatever reason. Boots is just  . As for Christmas Lights i think it is a classic, radio 1 gave it alot of spins last xmas. Not on the scale of The Pogues/Mariah but it wont change until radio stations think people are sick to death of them too.

As for Tom hope he gets to No1, it worries me that it didnt get more of a boost from the weekends XF coverage as Lilly always gained massively from that - maybe the song isnt quite connecting with people?

This. The only songs that fulfil this since July are Fuse ODG's T.I.N.A and Rariworkout

Maybe 2015 will see some difference. I'd love to see songs like Earthquake, iLL Manors, German Whip, Traktor and Can't Hold Us return to the upper echelons of the chart.

Rariworkout I can understand (although it was "only" #11) but TINA? It's such a non event with terrible vocals (apart from Angel of course) -_-

Its not his best I agree, but it sounds different and hardly dull :D
