If it gets any airplay on CIN that could give it a boost so sadly I'm expecting this to hang on but I'm hopeful this will be the week it finally goes away !

The irony of the song actually dropping out makes me want to listen to it to go with the mood

I will be sad if Happy is out, I wanted him to make 52 weeks in the top 40 :(

Why? It's no exceptionally good song, it's vastly overrated, and I bet there's probably some petition on Facebook for its dropping out of the chart!

I would just like to see a record broken in chart terms. I never brought the single though would have if I had got my hands on the limited edition vinyl release. But it would be wrong to say it hasn't been the defining track of 2014 and songs rarely sell over 2 million singles that aren't charity records so there must be something in it. That said these types of mega hits are normally overplayed!

I think Steve was more interested in the chart stats (i.e. most consecutive weeks in the Top 40 by a single).

Though, at 49 weeks, it already holds that record outright of course.

EDIT- wot steve said above.

Its promotion on DMe2 didn't help it off #1, and look at nearly all Frozen tracks charting! Only little kids and () buy them! So how on earth do they keep charting? And Let It Go is climbing in the top 40 again! Let It Go already!

I somehow doubt someone would go to the trouble to do that (nor know why on Earth they would)

If Happy doesn't make 52 weeks then All Of Me or Thinking Out Loud both almost certainly will so there won't be a long wait for that elusive record.

I think the festive season will help All Of Me better Happy's record.

I'm not so sure Happy has rode its luck getting 49 weeks so far with streaming being added in July and other random promo we shall have to see...

I don't think it will recover from 47 this week :(

You say that, but it has also remained Top 40 on sales throughout, actually often it has been higher on sales. Streaming has made little difference to its longevity.
Happy will probably make 52 weeks top 40, just not consecutively I think. Can see it returning for a bit in the new year with the gift card effect and slower chart, maybe even before then.

I have a strong feels The Veronicas will miss the top 10. Maybe #12 or worse...#11

F**king Streaming.

Gareth Malone looks certain for number 1 now at with him holding top 3, with instant grats removed he has been number 1 most of the week. I dont really like the version but it is for a good cause and i would hope it will boost sales again for the original.

I don't think anyone really assosiates 'Happy' with Despicable Me 2, it first charted ages after the film was released. Also, it is not just 'little kids' that watch those types of films, I'm nearly 24 and most of the people on my Facebook timeline (particularly those older than me) love animated films, not just kids! I think the market is a lot wider than you're suggesting. :P

I never even considered these singles would have a slight chance of beating Happy's record, however the momentum build for TOL will help it across. AOM looks to be going fast out of the top 10 which is looking good but both songs most surely will be close to Happy  :right: :w00t:

THINKING OUT LOUD

Happy is no doubt a high quality production, feel good song. It dont make me feel good now tho haha!

All of Me I can take, even now....

I really can't see that happening. Tom Odell and Calvin/Ellie might overtake but looking at the Kworb numbers all week they've been massively ahead of everything else. 'Like I Can' at #9 has only just overtaken but they had a day's advantage over him, have been ahead mostly and him being #36 on Spotify wouldn't make up that huge difference, 'I'm Not The Only One' at #10 has also been really far behind and Taylor Swift at #11 isn't available to stream. :P

Really hope Shake It Off stays top 10 this week over I'm Not The Only One. Falling 5-11 just seems wrong after 12 weeks in the top 6, but I guess Taylor's only got herself to blame for removing the song from streaming sites... It'd probably still be around #7-8 otherwise! :(

Last I heard was Taylor wanted it removed from Spotify for some odd reason...
