Good EOY honestly Joseph, I won't pretend I like the winner but I have been reading along and there have been some good song reviews here, it's certainly clear why you love the songs you do and on the rare occasions our taste does overlap it's good to see you share the same passion for a song I love (She Looks So Perfect UP). I may joke about your taste but you definitely have a good thing going here.

 

Aside: I don't think I would have paid as much attention to Crash Test Dummy if I didn't know how much it meant to you and I'm glad I did, a lovely little song given I'm not normally a fan of that type of singer. V. nice to see it so high up.

Glad you've enjoyed the commentary Iz, I never expected to write so much for some of these songs but I've been so invested in them all year that I really couldn't stop myself talking, and in all fairness I'd rather spend my time writing some well thought out commentary than wasting everyone else's time with some half-arsed rubbish :kink: You being a bit of a fan of Crash Test Dummy (Broken) really is a pleasant surprise, although I'm not shocked that of all the young male artists I like, it's people like Reed and Greyson over Bieber and Cody. So glad you can appreciate it, as I said with Ball and Josh, it means a lot :heart:

Amazing :D I'm not sure I knew that you rated I Don't Care over Crazy Stupid Love but I'd probably say the same! It's a strong pop track to these ears so I'm also disappointed that it came and went so quickly. But, the record, yay!

 

Fancy is maybe the defining song of 2014 and SO worthy of that title. Watching it become a smash was such a thrill and, best of all, it led to a lot more good material from Iggy (including Problem of course, but Ariana is definitely the better part of that song)! Excellent job with the countdown and lucky you for having completed it already!

I'm so impressed that you've finished such an exhaustive countdown already by the way - I wish I had your work rate! Very much enjoyed reading your insightful commentaries for the reasons Iz and others have said. You really made an effort to explain the context to your experience/enjoyment of certain songs and pinpoint your favourite aspects of them, which was great to get to know. Very well done!

Noah - I guess I'm just impatient :kink: I always enjoy EOY season on here and it gives me the chance to ramble on about my favourite tracks in a place where people will actually listen :heehee: Glad you've been enjoying the commentary a lot! Was hoping I wasn't rambling too much haha. Was scared especially for the Reed Deming commentary that people would be like "lol who is he" and skim past what I wrote but I've loved all the replies to my essay for that haha.

We share our favourite Cheryl track :o Although for different reasons LOL. Call My Name is just such a JAM, although Fight For This Love isn't very far behind it.

I'm all caught up now, your number one is MASSIVELY superior to your number two for me, so nice choice! 'Fancy' is such a jam, and will definitely be remembered as one of THE tracks of 2014!
