For me, Fleur is much, much worse singer who can rap and put a good show than Misha B from series 8 (or 7?). She was REALLY bringing it week after week, yet she didn't find herself in the finals. Fleur is really plain comparing to her and still everyone wants people to think that she is a "sensation". No, she is not. She might be the best out of these 4 left, but it doesn't mean that she is a star (outside XF obviously).

Misha B was ridiculously unlikeable though. Especially if the backstage reports are to be believed (and there were a lot at the time). She could rap, but to me her voice was too aggressive for me to get completely on board with her. But she's proven that it all depends on the material she gets outside the xf as 'Do You Think Of Me' is one of my favorite songs from an xf alumni!

 

Does anyone else find it bizarrer how after years of "we'll never have an over win the xf ever again" we are likely to get two in a row? :lol: It's another reason why I'm backing Fleur. People forget that she's an "over".

I did love Alex during the show (I used all my phone credit voting for her at the time :lol:), but I think I'll be happier for Fleur to win than I was her, probably because Fleur seemed like a total no hoper before the lives started (I myself had her pegged at week 2 fodder at best) but she soon crept up and now she's a favourite. Same with Little Mix, I love the journey they went on. This series has been subpar talent wise but I like when there isn't an outright obvious winner much more than years like 2013 where Sam was so obviously going to win from like week 1.

It's weird, I think this is actually one of the main reasons I'm kinda not the biggest fan is because it doesn't feel at all like Little Mix for me and I find myself resenting the people who it seems so obvious the producers are forcing at us. It felt like they picked up support as it went along quite naturally but the whole Fleur thing seems SO managed. From the 'I don't even remember this girl' comment of Simon's, it's like Simon and the producers have literally read the Little Mix book of "How to get the public behind the underdog" and played it to absolute perfection. I don't feel like she's crept up at all and they've completely played this whole competition to an absolute TEE to try and paint her as a rising star throughout the show to a level where it feels like quite offputting favouritism.

 

Fleur is almost everything I want in an X Factor contestant so I think it must be this that's making me not 100% get behind her, I always resent it when shows so blatently try and shove who they want to win down your throat.

What a load of shit, so having an amazing voice is not having 'the x factor' tell that to Adele, Whitney, Mariah etc, obviously they have no X factor and will never sell records.

 

Your idea of what is the X factor isn't what everyone else's has to be too. I mean this is a forum of mainly gay men and women who of course will want 'performance' but go ask a different demographic what they think the X factor is in a singer and they may well say an amazing voice.

There's a clear difference between Adele, Whitney and Mariah, and Sam "Cruise Ship" Bailey. The latter doesn't have an ounce of star quality and was never gonna be big. Adele has the songwriting skills and a great tone, and Whitney and Mariah can belt out the big notes. Sam and Andrea just have "mothers' day covers albums" written all over them.

No way - is Fleur not as good as Misha B. Fleur is a better singer, rapper, all round performer that Misha B could ever be. I just couldn't stand this woman.

You are both making my point, cant Andrea/Ben be themselves? You are already slating them for mother's day albums etc. I'm sure there were many who thought 1D would be the next flop boyband selling to a small but rabid fanbase in the UK.

 

Fleur's shortcomings vocally can be overlooked seemingly, why cant the supposed shortcomings of Ben/Andrea be overlooked too?

 

There is nothing to say who will be and wont be successful after the show and who will be the real 'X factor' outside of the show in terms of sales. Right now the 3 biggest acts to come from the X factor are an entertaining but limited over (Olly) a dull but amazing voiced female (Leona) and a thrown together boyband (1D).

 

People thinking Fleur has the X factor because she can perform are well entitled to that opinion but telling others they are wrong because they may have a different view of what the X factor is is frankly annoying.
