5 08.6 Some Girls

MY BABY DRIVES A CAR. HEY! Another charity single now, this time for Sport Relief. Rachel sadly could not quite replicate the success of the S Club CIN singles as this failed to go to #1 but still did respectably well. Some Girls was included on the re-release of her debut album Funky Dory, which treated us to the Swat-Team remix of album track Breathe In Breathe Out. Huge missed single opportunity.

4 08.9 Reach

Altogether now!

I'VE

GOT

YOU

AND

YOU'VE

GOT

ME

SO...

REACH! FOR THE STARS

Karaoke and children's party classic Reach makes it to #4, just behind #3 on more decimal places. Reach is without a doubt one of S Club's most iconic tracks, helped by its catchiness and lyrics about friendship and achieving your dreams. The track was shockingly not a #1, but spent 15 weeks in the top 40, which was quite astonishing back in the days of physicals! Surely no pop fan can dislike this track??

Chart Run: 2-2-2-4-9-13-18-21-23-23-26-27-29-37-38-51-71-x

Lowest: 05.0 (Lee Wallace, Liamshikari27)

Love these 2, Rachel's - Some Girls is such a fantastic catchy track and remember reading somewhere that Geri Halliwell wanted this track. S Club's Reach, definitely one of their best and glad it's done so well so that means the top 3 are S Club's Bring It All Back and Don't Stop Movin, and Rachels - Sweet Dreams, here's what I think =

1. S Club 7 - Bring It All Back

2. S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'

3. Rachel Stevens - Sweet Dreams (My L.A. Ex)

3 08.9 Bring It All Back

Where it all began! Bring It All Back was S Club 7's debut single and the theme song to their first TV series Miami 7. The song shot straight to #1, becoming the first of four for the group, and is undeniably another of their signature tunes. The girls took the lead on this track, with all four getting a part to sing (only one of two singles that Hannah and Tina got a solo on! The other, interestingly, is their final single Say Goodbye), and the boys only having adlibs throughout.

'Reach' is just so happy, joyous and campy. It never fails to lift my spirits. 'Bring It All Back' also has tons of happy memories for me, mainly of school discos.

2 09.2 Sweet Dreams My LA Ex

From one debut single to another, Rachel's first hit just misses the top spot. Sweet Dreams My LA Ex was another huge #2 hit, sadly impacted by the physical era of low sales and poor chart runs due to deletion. Sweet Dreams My LA Ex is an undeniably catchy track and I have many many memories with it, so I'm very glad to see it this high up! :D

1 09.3 Don't Stop Movin'

DJ GOT THE PARTY STARTED, THERE'S NO END IN SIGHT! Don't Stop Movin', the biggest chart hit for S Club (including solo songs), also triumphs on Buzzjack as it wins the rate, only just! Being brought down by Lee's ridiculous -1, it still manages to beat every other song and rightfully so, it's easily my favourite here and a pure pop classic! DON'T STOP MOVIN' TO THE S CLUB BEAT

Thanks for hosting it Joseph! :D It's been a brilliant read and loved seeing the old chart runs! Great winner, although I'd have personally preferred something else, I can't grumble that it won!

In regards to Rachel Stevens 'Sweet Dreams (My LA Ex)' wasn't it stupidly close between her and BEP's, 'Where Is The Love?'? I swear she was number 1 in the mid weeks/CD:UK. Also, genuinely thought 'Reach' was a 3 week number 1 :\

Fantastic results, Bring It All Back brings back so many happy memories and bought it the day it came out, DSM another classic just love it, and if downloads were added to Rachel's Sweet Dreams then would have doubled in sales. I know the rate is over and still sad that my laptop broke for weeks, but anyway here's what I would have rated them, just for fun

Wonderful Top 2! My favourite S Club 7 song and my favourite Rachel song. Great countdown, Joseph. :D
So pleased an a club song won !
That chart run for Don't Stop Movin' *.* Returning to No.1 was so rare back then. It really is a huge pop classic, but they have 3 or 4 of those.
I used to hate 'Don't Stop Movin', but it recently grew on me. :P I can't argue with it winning, although I'd have probably preferred anything else out of the top 4.
Can't complain with that top 5 at all TBH. Especially the #1. 'Don't Stop Movin' even now has lost none of its appeal.

I totally agree, considering it's, what, 13 years old now? It's not sounding that old in the SLIGHTEST to me. Incredible pop track
