this week's changes:

Major Lazer decrease their difference by 3, but a +7 lead is still very good (I imagine it'll decrease further as its sales increase). Pitbull finally catches up (nearly) on its sales peak, lowering its difference to just +1. Nick Jonas becomes the 2nd sales #1 to miss out officially, having a -1 difference (as did Union J). The fake version of 'Cheerleader' is unsurprisingly the worst affected by streaming this week, as it has a difference of -24 this week, the worst difference for a fake version ever. Bars & Melody hilariously get a difference of -23 for the second time, after 'Keep Smiling' which went to #52 (#29 on sales), and also coincidentally Kodaline match themselves too, with 'The One' changes its difference to -15, the same difference as 'Honest', although it is still climbing so it will probably change again next week. Poor 'Rumors' loses 9 positions this week, although that isn't the record for worst difference for a sales top 10 hit (that would be 'Beautiful Me' from last week which lost 10 positions).

this week's changes;

'Lean On' now shares the record for biggest beneficiary from streaming in 2015, as its difference goes from +7 to +1. Wiz and Omi leave the list and not too much else of interest.

Interesting that acts I would expect to benefit from streaming are not such as Disclosure and David Guetta.

Also I think launching pop bands is going to be harder than ever with streaming unless record companies can come up with a strategy to combat this - Recent examples of Conor, M.O etc 'flopping' despite being comftably in the Top 30 sales shows how tough it is.

Yeah agreed, also gonna be a lot harder for the likes of new talent show acts to start off as streaming definitely favours those with already big fanbases such as One Direction or Olly Murs so for those now starting in post-streaming era they could struggle.
Four tunes with at least -20 difference, shows how far streaming has come in only ten months.

Record labels seriously need to start releasing more songs on streaming services sooner to give them time to build up before official release. Certainly didn't do Magic, Meghan Trainor or Omi any real harm.

Britney's label need to get Pretty Girls on Spotify pronto, otherwise I worry it will have a similar (if not worse) chart run to Work Bitch when actually released here.

Just noticed George Ezra (Listen To The Man) appears to be missing on the list in the first post now.

Stereophonics break the unwanted record now, won't be long before we get a top 40 sales hit completely missing the top 75 (this did actually happen with Chic but that climbed the following week). I'm sure lots of buzzjack will be pleased about Jessica Cornish's major floppage thanks to streaming anyway :lol:
