Track of the day 11/07/15

Pharrell Williams - Freedom

quite a good comeback from him, and it's already a minor chart smash :music:

I'm sure I'll enjoy hearing it on the radio but not one I'd ever listen to through choice. Bit on the weak side for a lead single, sounds more like a fifth single from his last album.
I love Freedom, sounded great at glasto and I love the beat, hope this helps it stay in the top 40 this week!

Track of the day

Rachel Platten - Fight Song

SLAY ME

this is clearly going to be a big hit then, it is good for a pure pop song so wouldn't be surprised. Certainly a lot better than a certain other 2015 song with 'Song' in the title anyway

TOTD for Tue 14th July - Conrad Sewell 'Hold Me Up'

Not bad. Quite an infectious chorus on first listen.

not even half as good as 'Firestone' obviously but glad this is getting pushed instead of 'Start Again' (and also it means we can all call Bellamia really cheap :heehee:)

Really like this track, heard Clara play it last week and it really got my attention.

Hopefully this will be a top 40 hit at least

I don't love that song nearly as much as I should. But tbh, I think it's just due to disappointment and expecting better. I would've liked another tropical house smash from him :(
It's the best thing he's put his name to so far for me (of three solo songs including Firestone but still :kink:), so so good and a contender for my song of the year. It NEEDS to smash.

Well I'm with Joseph here. I guess we must be #teamcheap :heehee:

It didn't properly connect with me right away but after a few more listens I'm growing to like it more and more. It evidently sounds very summery. Quite glad R1 are going to support this if it's TOTD then but I'm not sure it'll go top 20. I sure hope it does though. 'Start Again' is also very very lovely and I can definitely see that getting pushed in Autumn time.

Start Again was #1 in Australia (where Hold Me Up flopped in at #39) so I imagine they're using this to get his name out there before properly launching him with Start Again (which will probably be a lot bigger)
